The Pass was proper mint all weekend. Had the whole Wavelength hillside to ourselves which I found pretty astounding considering the weather...

What's it like at the moment after this weeks bad weather? Going for the weekend and camping in the Pass. What about surrounding areas? Anyone been this week?

Should be fine

Was there Fri - Tue. Everything is drying out super quick in this weather. Even after the torrential downpour on Sat night there was plenty to go at by Sun afternoon.

Light rain forecast for Sun though (http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wl/betws-y-coed_forecast_weather.html)

Hmm cheers Gruff.

Judging by that I'll have to try and make the most of this afternoon, if it's dried up, and tomorrow. Maybe head back early Sunday for a climb somewhere else!

How has it been around the pass recently?

Pembroke has turned into a bit of a washout and I was thinking of maybe sacking it up to North Wales. Not really that psyched to trade one washout for another.

Have you tried the metoffice?   ;)

Are you down all weekend by the way?  What are your plans?  Msg me on facebook if you get down there, I may be out that way on Sunday, although it may end up being the cave (although obviously the mountains is preferable).

Snow wise its fine most things are clear, it was raining in llanberis when i left for work this morning, looks like steady miserable wet shit for a day or two at a guess.  If you want a report in the morning 10 will be the earliest i go near interweb.

Cheers noddyholder. And yes Ben, I tried metoffice but it doesn't have a "boulder conditions" prediction  :P I'll give you a shout when I know our plans.

This is probably too late, but I reckon it'll be fine. There was some rain yesterday, but prior to that it had been very dry.

Planned to head to Wavelength on Monday, but was put off by the bank holiday hoards. Didn't fancy the walk in from the far side of Llanberis (full car parks), and/or trying to fit pads onto the rammed Sherpa buses. Seems lesson of the weekend was to stay clear of the pass when its that busy!! Still, had fun messing around on the RAC boulders instead.

Does anyone know how fast Foil dries after rain?  Any seepage?  If it's dry Sunday I might pop across to meet some mates but don't want to waste a trip if rain from the day before is going to mean it's still wet.
Cheers

http://www.northwalesbouldering.com/newsitem.asp?nsid=54 (http://www.northwalesbouldering.com/newsitem.asp?nsid=54)
well worth a trip up, a very good boulder nearby too,
http://www.northwalesbouldering.com/newsitem.asp?nsid=183 (http://www.northwalesbouldering.com/newsitem.asp?nsid=183)
rock is very similair to that of the Roaches Skyline  ;D
Pack your wellies though, not because of clunge but the walk in is abit of a bog.

Gritlad, just a headsup as I don't know if you've been before?

I don't know what the weather has been doing in the Crafnant valley the last few days but be prepared for a slippy time if there has been rain in the boulder field. A friend and I had to wade through the marshy/rocky terrain last time after rain. At the risk of sounding like your mother, perhaps take some stout walking shoes (Penguin bar, apple sandwiches etc etc).

Ahaa cheers, will pack my walking shoes and a waterproof just in case  ;)
Been dry today and yesterday so hopefully be ok, might be some slippery frost around though.

Craftnant needs a few dry days but sounds like we've had it. You need wellies for the Welsh hills. I always keep them in the boot and then think 'it will be alright'. Always regret it...

Crafnant was good today, thanks for the advice. walk in fairly dry, fine in approach shoes and boulders were all dry if a little dirty on a few. Weather looks amazing for tomorrow!
Whats the thoughts on the grade of Cruella, 7B?

Looking to head up to Wavelength and the Barrel tomorrow.

Anyone know how things are looking in the pass, dry at the moment?

Forecast looks good... Are the landings generally boggy this time of year?

Cheers

Cold and dry for ages. Bogs are frozen too, so easy to move around the upper Wavelength areas.

Nice work Dolly, but that's clearly from South Wales - a different country as far as I'm concerned!  ;)

Forecast for Sunday is proper baltic and windy too - I reckon it'll be dry but you'll probably freeze yer nuts off in the Pass.

Go to a coastal crag instead.

Surprisingly damp actually. I was going out in Bethesda this afternoon but changed my mind when I realised how much this morning's frost had hung around as dampness. Forecast was completely wrong - promised sunshine never materialised.

Cheers Si, didn't catch your update in time unfortunately. Went and did Jerry's Wall (Which was excellent). Conditions were bizarre... Rock was dry but the holds would condense/go a bit damp as you were using them!

Thanks :)
