In addition to the fire mentioned in the above article, another fire started yesterday in Trois Pignons between Rocher de Souris and Rocher de Chambergot, still to be extinguished. https://actu.fr/ile-de-france/noisy-sur-ecole_77339/pres-de-fontainebleau-7-500-m2-de-foret-partent-en-fumee-dans-le-massif-des-trois-pignons_59683838.html
The prefecture of Seine et Marne, where the majority of the major climbing areas are located, issued an order to ban smoking and throwing away cigarette butts. Lighting any kind of fire, including camping stoves, in the forest and adjacent areas is also strictly forbidden. The prefecture’s order also forbids bivouacking/ camping in the forest apart from authorised camp/bivouac sites. Furthermore, it also asks people to report any suspicious behavious to the Gendarmerie and the Policehttps://www.seine-et-marne.gouv.fr/Actualites/Prevention-des-incendies
After two consecutive very dry summers and winters, the local communities are very wary of the heightened risk of forest fires and wish all visitors to respect the no fire / no bivouacking rules in the forest.https://www.ohmybloc.fr/quand-les-rochers-sont-ils-secs-a-fontainebleau-when-are-boulders-dry-in-bleau-2/
