If you need to shop on Sunday, I think the Champions are all open until lunchtime, and the petrol station on the outskirts of Font also does basics to see you through to a Carrefour mega shop!
Love that supermarket, 3 aisles of wine, one aisle dedicated to chocolate!

The alimentations generals are generally open on Sundays, I know for a fact that the ones in Malesherbes are so there's probably ones in Font and Avon and other larger towns which will be. The petrol station too is open as Stubbs says.

The E Leclerc hypermarket next door is open until 12.30 on sundays

Old thread on restaurants (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php?topic=15922.0) may be useful too.

thanks again folks!

The " general dealers " in Milly must be owned by Arkwright as it is always open and cheap. Larchant restaurant is currently worth a visit.

And dfb (am I allowed to say that?) shop assistants on rollerblades!

For food shopping around Font on a Sunday there are a few options
In Font itself, there is the out door market and also the food hall section upstairs in the monoprix
I think that the Carfour by the Font Avon train station is open on Sunday mornng (though havn't been for ages).
THen there is the Carfour in Nemour on the road to Elephant and the Carfour and the Intermarche in Malsherbes.
Those are the ones I use. There are also all the bakeries and the mini market shop in Milly.
After lunch time or at any other time that shops are usually shut, the esso garage by the roundabout on the north side of Font (near the hospital)is a good bet.
I also know of DIY stores and electrical shops that are open on a Sunday, but I doubt those will be of interest.
Do watch out for the special opening days, The big Carfour is sometimes open on a Sunday for holiday days. BUT all supermarkets can be closed for FRENCH holidays which are not always the same as the UK holidays.
