Title: trying to reply to PMs by email (DON'T!)
Post by: ukb on February 03, 2011, 04:54:45 am: The forum software sends an automated email notice to the recipient whenever a PM is sent. The "sender" of that email is currently the UKB gmail address. People seem to quite regularly send replies to those emails. Whether that's caused just by an error or an over-optimistic assumption about the cleverness of the software, please don't do it! It won't work. Reply through the PM system.

Seems fairly obvious and straight-forward to me and is exactly how the other forums I use work.

I was changed to that for a while. Personally I prefer the current settings!

I think it was better when I stopped it sending the message contents out in the email, the amount of replies to the notification email dropped off to almost nothing then.
