This year (2013) the peregrines have moved their nest site from nearby Hen Cloud to the Roaches. Whilst this is good news in that Hen Cloud is open for climbing and other access throughout the year, it does mean that a restriction is required at the Roaches. This runs from 'Damascus Crack' to 'Easy Gully' and includes the boulders beneath up to the 'Flakes and Chips' boulder. As before the nest will be monitored on a day to day basis by the National Park Authority and RSPB and as soon at the chicks have fledged, the restriction will be lifted. There will also be on site signage with details of the restriction area.

Word is this ban has now been lifted as the nest has failed.
