Title: Power of Climbing
Post by: Mugabe251 on January 28, 2019, 04:11:30 pm
Found this a while back and read it to death - time to pass it on. Guess a lot of you already know all about it, but for those who don't it's an ace book with some excellent interviews with some of the greats and the lesser known names in climbing, featuring some great photography.

£20 ono

I don't think I've seen it for that cheap Dan, unless it's an ebook or something?

They seem to be going for around a tenner plus postage, so I'll bring it down to £10 :)

To be fair to Dan, I picked one up for about £3 a coupel of years back, but yes currently £10 is lowest

Good steer tho as I’ve just picked up Rock Climbing in Britain for £2.79 inc p&p. Haven’t read it in ages.

I must have got my copy for a bargain then, but to be fair, quite a lot of the pages were stuck together

How many ticks have you got in it?

I had a YYFY last November when I shared a ledge with both Jibe and Phil Davidson at the same time in Siurana

Can’t remember, not many I expect. Black Magic for sure, worth it for nostalgia of those days alone.

That's actually pretty amazing.

I meant from Rock Climbing in Britain! Not Rock Star stalking.

That's a shame, I've ticked far more climbers in PoC than I have routes in RCiB

I bought a copy of this again recently and wondered where they all are now.

For some it’s obvious as they are still about and climbing or doing stuff associated with it, for others, sadly, they are no longer with us but what about the rest?

This book truly inspired me through the years.

Yeah, what happened to that young lad, Jasper summat or other? He had a bright future, wonder where is is now... ;)

Hasn't someone got a copy with their signatures on most pages? Ru?

What counts as a  "tick"
 :wank: ?
 :lets_do_it_wild: ?

It depends who you talk to, ethics are very much a personal thing. I'm happy with just an exchange of pleasantries but I'm worried that by saying that I'll receive a load of foul mouthed invective from Fiend and that only  :lets_do_it_wild: counts.

We probably need someone to write a UKC article to be certain.

I'd buy that Fiend, could be a nice little bit of nostalgia. Are you going to Statement of Youth showing at MCC on Weds 20th?

I dunno if I'm actually selling, I just wanted to undercut Mugabe152 ;)

Thanks for the SOY heads up, yeah that sounds cool, will head along.
