Title: Python courses for kidz
Post by: ben on January 07, 2023, 08:58:14 am
No not the Sportiva shoes or Monty but the programming language..

Does anyone have any recommendations for an online course/website/book for a 10 year old to learn Python ?

I've been looking online and there seem to be loads of them, some free some pretty expensive and it's hard to know which are good and accessible/fun for a youngster (happy to pay a reasonable amount for the right one)

My daughter wants to learn some coding and has to come up with a 'new inactive hobby' for an award scheme she's doing and so I suggested Python (especially as it'll give me the impetus to learn it at the same time which will be useful for my day job)

(Would like her to learn actual code rather than the Scratch style moving blocks around in a GUI basic approach)

It's not specifically for kids, but some of the most approachable coding courses are on Code Academy - perhaps https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-python-3 would work.
