Title: Games for a macbook
Post by: Will Hunt on January 03, 2009, 01:53:19 pm
I'm thinking I might get a game for my macbook. Something first person shootery with a good online multiplayer. Don't particularly want to get a windows emulator though. Is there anything other than Call of Duty? And is this good as I was thinking of getting it?

Don't think there's much around tbh, metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games/) doesn't even list the Mac as a platform.

Yeah set up a small partition with XP just for playing games. Should run most Win games pretty smoothly as most Macs have reasonable graphics cards. Your right, not much is written specifically for the Mac, it's never really been a gamers machine. A few classics are available ...http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_mac/games?mco=MTgyMDY (http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_mac/games?mco=MTgyMDY)

surely it depends which macbook it is doesn't it?
the old ones (pre-unibody design) have integrated intel graphics cards that are wank, and reputedly not much cop for gaming. If it's a new one with the glass covered glossy screen and aluminum body it should be fine for most games on Winblows or OSX
