Hi Guys and Girls, looking to have a go with bouldering photography and curious as to what experienced boulderers class as a good bouldering photo?
The classic chalked hand on a hold?
Slow-Mo dyno?
from above or below?
all views gratefully received
thanks

All of the above.
In the words of Wesley Snipes - It's better to fail but look good.

Cheers Chris, just need to get off my ar$e and hit the peak a lot....

I don't think there's any magic formulas that work - like any photography you need to just develop your own style.
Sometimes the "chalky hand on hold" pic can look very good, but very often it's just hackneyed.
-
I especially like silhouetted climbers......preferable hanging off some type of logo................maybe a krab or a mountain
well skill

You answered your own question :P

Context!
An idea of where the boulder/boulderer is. Even if it's some inner city hole, or with a stunning, scenic backdrop I like to see the setting.

I think the main criteria are a certain dynamicism (is that a word?) in the climbers movements so it doesn't look staged, a interesting setting (doesn't have to be pretty, just interesting), along with the usual photography stuff of being well composed, good light and colours etc.
of course, having a hot chick as the subject always helps too....
