Just bagged myself a deal on a d7.
Been straining to leave the POV MTB cam film genre for a couple of years, couldn't resist any longer.
Bought just the body, looking at a medium level lens.. 18/55 would seem a wise first purchase.. Opinions gratefully received ( I'm a noob at SLR, many years ago did a bit of SLR photography.. But that was pre digital) I will be using it 90% HD film if that helps...

Do you mean the Canon 7D? Don't think Nikon's range extends to D7 yet, it maxes out at D4 at present.
What lens will depend to some extent on what you want to shoot but the 18-55mm kit lenses for both Canon and Nikon are good (decent quality for the price) starters before you get drawn into the geeky world of buying loads of kit (should compliment your MTB addiction nicely ;) ).
