Rather than stepping outside of the UKB medium, feel free to add your board here. For those who have already mentioned your boards - if you could take a moment to insert those details within this thread. In order to preserve the thread as a useful repository, try to avoid extraneous posts. Perhaps add some pictures or video shorts of your wench. Hopefully, you'll find your training partner from heaven.

woz i know you're always keen to add to your scorecard but please tell me 1-4-7 at 7c+ woz a joke?
-
I used to think it was too when I couldn't do it. Now I can, I still think its hard 7c. Come on Lee, its not like he's claiming 8c is it
-
1-2-3 = 5+
1-3-5 = 7a
1-4-7 = 7c+
1-5-8 = 8a
1-5-9 = 8a+
must. grade. everything.
maybe you could pop round and we could get a concensus. Apologies to everyone else for the
:off:
-
I actually pretty much agree with your grades there Woz. Lee won't but he can only do the first one on the list so its immaterial :'(
More worryingly than this nonsense, is that higher up this thread there's a man training on a board wearing socks and a watch. What. The. Fuck.

Pete Chadwick is the man wearing socks and a watch. It's his look and you better not confront him about it or else he'll crimp you to pieces. Funny actually, he was actually repremanding us all last night for not wearing socks
Add the watch into the equation and you have a perfectly good 80s male pr0nstar.
-
1-2-3 = 5+
1-3-5 = 7a
1-4-7 = 7c+
1-5-8 = 8a
1-5-9 = 8a+
must. grade. everything.

:off:
i see what you're doing there, nice. my opinion is noted by nige. 1-4-7 is neither 7c+ or 7c what utter nonsense. grading campus moves, idiots. i won't be popping round woz, but you probably suspected that already.
Come on Lee, its not like he's claiming 8c is it
what so that makes it ok to grade campus moves? i know gradings completely arbitrary but come on. i walked up a slight incline before, 2c i thought. then i carried a rather large bag up, my problem is whether to claim a bigger grade or just say i walked up the hill with a bag...
why can't people just say i did 1-4-7 instead of adjusting for a scorecard? beggars belief
remember nige i was there when you first did 1-5-8a. if you'd have dropped down and claimed 8a for it i would have beaten you with the barbell ;)
-
so i was just relaxing in the bath, maybe too distressing for some people, then it hit me "archimedes" i cried. then forced him off and told him to go downstairs. anyway i digress, the next thought was that you're obviously talking about using 3 or 4 fingers. what if you were to use 2 fingers? this is much, much harder than 3 or 4. then even mono's, i cannot right much enough times to emphasize the difference between mono's and 2 fingers. 2 fingers must be worth at least 2 grades more, with mono's, i won't even pretend to know about campussing on mono's, only that it brings a tear to my eye thinking about it.
oh yes i forgot, nice one daniel you monster. jade's a good name too
-
in all the excrement i thought i was on the green project thread, bear with me
-
i won't even pretend to know about campussing on mono's, only that it brings a tear to my jap's eye thinking about it.
You missed a bit. However, one typo in a post of such towering authority is entirely forgivable. Nice one.

Yeah we all got a total dressing down for the lack of socks when the Chadmeister came down the other day. As we said... give it ten or twenty years!
-
I'd noticed Pete's socks but was too afraid to mention them :o, anyway it didn't see to stop Jean-MTT, or big Ron for that matter.
-
anyway it didn't seem to stop Jean-MTT, or big Ron for that matter.
Andy, that sounds scarily like you may attempt to legitimise a future attempt at donning the socks and watch. If you do, don't forget it needs to be an Argos 4.99 black plastic Casio job and Birkenhead market's own Hike brand of pop socks.

Bad news folks, the liverpool board is soon to be no more as the building it's in is condemmed :o We have until next Thursday to salvage what we can :'( :'(
-
Jeez thats a bit harsh, sorry to hear that.
-
For fucks sake, I just heard this. Is it asbestos or something? And is that why I've had a chest infection since its inception?
Unbelievable, I'm close to tears.
-
The chest infection is due to your dodgy student diet of cold kebabs and draughty bedsits. The fact the building is condemmed is due to it being rotten from the foundations up. probably.
Next tuesday is the last big session, all welcome.
Andy
-
I eat a healthy organic diet thankyou Andrew but granted sleeping on the department floor doesn't help!
I'd like to extend that invite to anyone wanting to come down. Will go for drinks in town after it if people are keen with the option of a spare room in my house and a space in my bed for any particularly strapping young lads ;)
If you can close a Captains of Crush #3, the latter part of that offer has already been cemented.
-
The building is being renovated, not demolished. Should be though.
The board will be reborn. It will be rebuilt, but this time harder, stronger and more powerfully.
-
And with less seepage than the Tor in the monsoon season... :please:
Andy F
-
I'm well gutted. We need to get Johhny G down to send project Z before we are forced to dismantle!
Will definitely be there Tuesday. I suppose we'll have to find somewher to store all the panels/joists/tnuts/holds now :-\
-
Damn! That's a shitter. Wish I could make tuesday's sesh now :)
-
I suppose we'll have to find somewher to store all the panels/joists/tnuts/holds now :-\
We ain't gonna have time to get them out mate. Priority is getting the holds and bolts out, maybe the panels if we can store them. Hopefully the whole co-op should turn up on Tuesday to help strip it, except Donnelly who's getting drunk in Thailand at the moment.
We're on the case for a new venue. It must be done.
-
Sorry to hear about your board problems guys. Chappers has been banging on about how great it is for ages.
I was hoping to get over there at some point - hope you find a new venue and manage to recover as much of the current set up as poss. good luck with the dismantle
Dave
-
Come over Dave any time (til thurs!!) you're more than welcome.
-
Come over Dave any time (til thurs!!) you're more than welcome.
alas, I am stuck in a hotel in dorset all week i'm afraid!
-
This is probably no use to you but if you are desperate to find some storage for your boards until a new venue is found then I can offer storage for as long as you want.
The problem is I'm not especially near being in Tod (near Bridestones), but if you can get the boards over here I'll keep them for as long as you want.
Like I say probably no use to you, but thought I'd offer.
-
Nice one Nik, Mark has a van that we can fit all the panels in and maybe some of the timber save the giant 6 metre roof beams. I'll ring him tomorrow and see if it's possible!
-
No problem. Like I say it's not exactly a local storage solution but if it is of use to you then let me know.
-
Nik, that's real generous of you thanks. I'm not sure what plans have been made as I've been otherwise engaged, but your offer is much appreciated.
-
No problem. Just PM me if you want to take up the offer.

You paid £13.99 for Sublime's Greatest hits? They saw you coming.
Looks good though, nice one.
And, you are correct: Cre55brook is totally naughty here.
(Welcome btw)

Who can truly put a price on funk?
And on that note, I personally would trade a kidney to find my Gangstar albums from back in the day. They give me half a grade. :dance1:
13.99 is a bit of rip thinking 'bout it though.......

Looks like a baby BoulderUK... Nice bit of Manu though.

Good spot. Considered pink with red volumes in a 'back to the womb' stylee but felt it would be a bit OTT so yeah, did model on BUK you mind reader....Somebody give the man a karma.

Spent most of last Thursday evening in a mates 'Cellar of shamefaced inadequacy' working on a virtual mirror image of my 'Shed of performance driven reticence'. He has the skeleton in place and we started boarding last week..Very soon you can expect the boards to feature here and, in the words of Admiral Akhbar, had he been a 'real' humanoid boulderer wishing to train in Menston, "the reports were incorrect, this is a fully operational death cellar...."
Then spent the last 5 minutes of the night first attempting to put screw a pozi 2 bit through my finger with some success, and then attempting to stem the flow of blood/tears whilst trying not to think whether I should cut off the resulting flapper, which had a substantial amount of meat attached. I obviously opted for a plaster. Out of sight etc.
Pictures to follow, of the wall.
-
Apparently the Menston work in progress, "Cellar of shamefaced inadequacy" has undergone a transitional namechange by order of the management, who, in light of data protection/anonimity, i will call 'Rimon Sichardson'. It is and will be referred to in future as "the Basement of furious topless abuse."
Please amend your records accordingly.
-
any northeast woodies?
-
Newman has one near ish Barnard Castle...It's a bit dodgey mind you...
-
yeah he was saying about his garage "training"
but didnt see it as a woodie
-
it is a woodie I promise you, steep, must be >60'. probably about 14 ft in length, he used to have something at quite a shallow angle but thats gone now.The new woodie is badly built but last time I spoke to him he was planning to extend it. Fingerboard as well I think.
-
alright cool, ill interigate him about it next time i see him

Park your unicycle outside. Stub out the Gauloises and remove your beret for we are definitely not in mainland Europe no more Toto. Leave your pride on the same hook as that there continental faggotry.
A spare pair of shoulders are all you need here. The boards are up so let the injuries commence!
Name : De basement of debasement….
Location: Menston (nr Ilkley)

Size : 16ft x 16ft x 8ft
Vibe : Elastic Eclectic Electro FONK.
Other facilities : Doctor on site. Nausea inducing colour scheme. Pus yellow/acne red spots on walls for both physical AND mental training.
This is a truly elite facility, indeed, applications may be made in writing with a full CV for an interview in regards to securing a place on a shortlist for secondary, tertiary and quaternary consideration before final refusal.

well done!!!

Wet Sunday afternoon, what to do?
Obviously increase the wifes displeasure by spending the time making additions to the wall.
So new features are:
Some holds (thanks Dylan)
The "Ladies" 5 degree wall (although the lady in question might be disapointed with the tiny crimps it is laden with...)
50% of the side wall (ran out of ply, arse...)
Check out these bad boy photos...

And you thought the climbing works was something to get excited about, ker-pow mutha fuckas....
-
Nice.
-
Nice Height on the 30. Are you extending further? How far do I have to imagine travelling? What tuneage can you offer? Refrigerator contents? Grade range and expected injuries? I need to know...
-
There are plans to move it to a different room, and once in its new residence to add some more walls. I quite fancy having a steep (45ish) wall with a slab to rockover onto above it. Mind you the new room needs a new cement floor laying first so this aint gonna be happening next weekend.....
Location:
Todmorden
Fridge contents:
Pint and a half of full fat milk
A grape
A petit filous
A bottle of champagne
Tuneage:
most genres represented with a slight bias towards ambient featuring animal noises (especially frog croaks)
Grade range:
Whilst the middle region of the bell curve distribution of problems has had a cursory exploration the further reaches are currently untested
Expected injuries:
Altitude sickness if you make it to the top of the board
-
What FLAVOUR petit filous?
Just google mapped Todmorden and it happens to be about 10 miles away. As the crow flies. And about 30 via more conventional means. Infact Todmorden looks to be the M62 antithesis of Slaithwaite. All roads lead to Rochdale by the look of things.
The top of that 30 looks proper nose bleed territory.
Check out my boards earlier in this thread Nik at Work, you are cordially invited(to apply for an invitation request pack)
-
Tod would be a really convenient place to live if it had roads going to it and shit, maybe next year.
Your walls look like works of art, very impressive (if a bit lacking in height :)). Is there an online application form?
I've got a room with an 11 metre ceiling height so I'm toying with the idea of suggesting a lead wall to the wife. Just need to get my cahones insured first...
Oh and it's a strawberry petit filous, one of the ones with the layer of fruit mush at the bottom (and the grape is seedless if that matters)
-
Bin the lead wall idea. Tank the bottom 2 metres....First of its kind, indoor shallow water solo. Extreme. I take it you own either a church or a Silo. Whilst the contents of the fridge sound more Dr No than Reverend Green I expect it is/was a place of worship.
You're correct in your observations regarding shed height, but I have found bigger benefits from angle change transitions than sheer pull down height, the former of which you can rarely get at an indoor venue to any excess. And as Mr Jim Morrison famously said, "the road to excess leads to the Palace of fookin' burl".

Yes boss it's one of Varian's - what's the name of it again, Megabastard or something? The slopers and slopey pockets are lovely.

Tried Smoggies board on monday. Despite its diminutive size it is very good. Tunes were beastie boys which is a plus. The Vader hangboard is nice too - the slopers are a fucking challenge like!
I am not gonna say anything anti semetic about jew si as its naughty and I will be told off.

Liverpool crew; I'm not texting any more of you shits with the news.
An afterparty led to a chance meeting of someone who knew someone who has built a selecta board in the basement of a well known city centre building. I checked it last night and it is the cat's chuddies. The 40 degree is up, a roof section and shit loads of space for us to erect the 50 degree and a 35 if needed. Will let you know when keys become available (very very soon).

more holds going on and there is plenty of tweaking to be done.

Just a quick heads up to the West Yorks/East Lancs training massive. The YWYTBTWWSNABFTB?IDIRFD as detailed below:

Is now sporting a strong 40 degree look. I know this isn't as steep as the bumpy boys like it but it's still all the same holds as were on it when it was a 25, and lots of them were poor then. I'll sort out some up to date photo soon but it's an alternative plan if anyone gets rained off Bridies.
Oh yeah there's lots more holds on it than in that photo.
P.S. We still need a bedroom for the "baby" (who is now two and a half) :-[
-
Can the 'Baby' just sleep on the matting below the board and have the dreams of power??
-
I feel I have to post about my visit today with Matt to Broughton after we were rained off early in the Peak.
We warmed up on the resin wall jugs/flakes/tufas then set about the 20/25 degree slopey pinches wall which was lovely. Moved on to the 45 board and were impressed by the width which allowed brutal links.
We finished off on Sector 3 which had some truly awful grips and felt just like climbing at Rubicon
Keen for some more Broughton action this winter, just gutted it isn't in Liverpool :'(
-

You fucking muppets. After you texted I carried on and arrived in Hathersage at half ten; sun out with a nice drying breeze. Climbed for seven hours in at times near perfect conditions (especially after three when it clouded over a bit). Hundreds of people out climbing at Stanage and you punters went to the wall.
-
I recon richie had a better time at broughton tho. The true home of power.
You lot should come over more often, we will be starting going again regular soonish

I feel I have to post about my visit today with Matt to Broughton after we were rained off early in the Peak.
The lesson learned today is save the petrol and just go to the Temple. The Peak's overrated, busy as, and too long a drive... ;)
-
As promised, some photos.
This side view shows how much steeper the board is, the missing area of the side panel is the increase in angle, obviously I'll be filling that in. The board might not look like it's quite 40, but that's a bit of an optical illusion, the "vertical" board to it's left is actually 5-10 degrees overhanging.
And this is the leaning mass of the board, it turns back to a slab for the top 40cm or so. I was a bit worried that if it stayed as a 40 all the way up I'd be missing the mats if I fell off the top. Obviously the top needs boarding out but the existing board is still over 3.6 metres in length, more than enough to fit a few moves in (assuming I can pull on).

Hey
Just moved back to Liverpool after a long time away and wondering if anyone knows of a board/woodie around?
Dave
-
Davo, shame you missed the halcyon days of the dispensary and the lair (never called that but I always thought it seemed like a good place to take women back to). Awesome Walls have a great sized woodie and campus board that's been built and is awaiting holds. Various people around town with woodies/campus setups but you'll need to hang around street corners and look out for shifty looking 6 ft+ tendons to see the non commercial stuff. I aim to get a personal board when I move back over from Wirral but until then the wall it is. Welcome back to the promised land!
-
Thanks for the info. Checked out awesome walls yesterday after trying to get to Parisella's and finding a fule leak in my van. woodie downstairs looked like it would be good with some more holds on it.
The promised land!! That is the first time I have ever heard anyone describe Liverpool like that!!

On Fair! How come in Liverpool you get to have it unpainted and in Stockport we get to have a board painted by the local nursery?
Looks ace, the Stockport one is still unfinished.......
-
Well a few of us basically veto'd/begged/harangued Dave not to paint it with a thick layer of paint(s) like it had on the previous board. It's just a thin single colour which brings out the wood grain a little and is a vast improvement on the last one (i.e. no spinning wooden holds and loss of friction).
It won't be quite as hard to spot the footholds too, due to the single colour as opposed to the bullseye on the previous board.
I don't quite get what you mean about it being unpainted though unless you were referring to the campus board which obviously stays free of paint
-

I thought the board looked un-painted (like a proper woody) as I could see the grain.
To be fair, the Stockport one is thin paint, not like the thick stuff on the current walls, it's just hideous. It's also been in a state of near completion for ages but it's never quite finished...... :'(

Yeah. That is charlie in the picture.
Drop me a line and if you don't live up to your name then I'm sure you will be able to drop round. Always nice to meet new people.

If young boys are including in the training facilities, I'll be round soon. Now wheres my hat?

Scunthorpe?

Is that a Copley reference? If so i'm putting it down to our youthful exuberance, passion and overwhelming motivation.
Its either that or cause we looks like dicks.

I'd put it down to Jim wanting to bum you

Ah. I get it now. :-\ I just thought I was being mocked, but fortunately we're only going to get molested. The internet is such a fantastic place isn't it?

Which is currently being relocated, interesting to see in what state it will survive the transition to the new wall, apparently reopening Monday? Aparently a steep board will be there in some capacity as well as hopefully the campus board, but I am pretty sure there is no longer going to be a separate 'cellar' membership.

I hate you all.

Anybody got a board in the Carlisle/Brampton area??
-
I'm looking to move to the area in the next couple of months and would be keen to build one if you know of anywhere / anyone who might also be keen. Is there anywhere to train in the area at all??
-
any boards in the peak or that side of sheff or chesterfield? cheers Al
-
Does anyone have a board in Didsbury/South Manchester way at all?
Been going to the Beastmaker board at Rockover but it's going or possibly gone now. New stuff to come upstairs there though I'm told.
That beastmaker board was amazing but apparently used by less than a handful of people.
-
Does anyone have a board in the Nottingham area? :please:
-
beastmaker board is being relocated upstairs i believe.
does anyone have a board in Brum?
-
maybe it's time to officially put my board here. Italy, Siena. mine. you're welcome!
-
Was told Beastmaker board is no more and not upstairs either. Can I extend the request for a board search to Manchester city-wide? Thursday evenings am looking to train and can bring haribo.

my boards in Nelson, doesnt take to long to get to from manc.

Monolith, there's a board at Awesome Stockport. I've not really used it and it's no beastmaker but would be worth a try. It's £6 for bouldering only.
It's been re-set since this picture but it gives you an idea:

Any boards near to Bridgnorth (shropshire)? Will be there for Jan/Feb working so hoping to get some training in as regular climbing unlikely due to work. :(
Thanks
-
Thanks for the shoutouts and offer Andy. Plenty of workable solutions :)
-
The Awesome Stockport board has been re-set in a symmetrical manner as per a Beastmaker board (but in a low-rent Awesome stylee).
-
board share in Porthleven, Cornwall.
lovely harbourside aspect!
45 and 30 degree boards, campus board and beastmaker.
long shot I know, seems like their are no bouldering folk down this way anymore :(
get in touch if you are interested.

board share in Porthleven, Cornwall.
Sorry I can't help out Andy, I've sent you an email by the way.
Try asking at ClottedRock Climbers (http://clottedrock.ning.com/) as there seems to be a few Helston/Porthleven-based people on there. Or get in touch with the Combined Universities of Cornwall rock climbing club (http://www.fxu.org.uk/cucrockclimbing) - there must be some keen, strong students about!
You really should put some photos and a post about it on blocspenwith as that'll bring the commited boulderers out of the woodwork and I'll come over from time to time if it'll help.
-
New years resolution is to actually try and train a little bit!
Anyone have a woody around the Derby area? Climb around F7a but happy to fail endlessly on a board I can only dream of getting up!
Thanks,
Andy.
-
Hey guys,
Been in Australia for a little while but moving back to the Uk in september for a new job to Newcastle. Look for psyched training partners and boards in the area.

-
Moving over to Leeds now in about 2 weeks and wondered what the board scene is like over that way? Been a long time since last lived there.
-
I'm going to be moving my boards to a different part of the same building in the next couple of months so if there's anyone based in the Morecambe area who can help and wants free use of it let me know dave
-
Long shot but are there any boards near to Malvern, Worcestershire?
-
No way. That's where I'm from originally.

Okay, thanks.

due for a re-furb this summer. Getting new 30deg and 50deg boards.
I know this was 5 and a hlf years ago but does anyone now if this board still exists?
-
I think it's been through a few iterations but is still in existence. Dan lives in Leeds but his Dad still has the board going I think. Try hitting Dan up via PM, I'm not sure if he ever comes on here any more (I doubt it).
-
Cheers mate, i'll try and pm him. Out of interest is it in an old industrial unit or sum1's garage?
-
His Dad's garage.
-
its gonna need some serious structural reinforcement if your gonna go anywhere near it.
-
Ah righ :icon_beerchug:t, I thought it was maybe in an old industrial unit down the industrial estate.

Any boards in rural West Oxfordshire ?
If not anyone interested in trying to put something together?
-
Due to a couple of former users leaving the area, we have a couple of spaces open in our training board syndicate - based just outside Lancaster, Lancs.
If anyone would be interested in coming on board (no pun intended) drop me an email/message and I'll give you further details and the monthly costs etc.
Board Details: 50 degrees overhanging, 4.5m in length, 2.3m wide.
Other facilities: Beastmaker 2000, Metolius Rock Rings, weights and standard Gym Rings.

Hey all, I've just got accepted into Manchester uni, and I'm looking for a board to train on. Can someone help me out please?
Such a shame that the BM board's (supposedly) gone from Rock Over. Do they still have the holds?
-
Google ' Broughton Power'
-
Anyone know if theres a board in York area? Looking for somewhere cool to train when I go back to uni.
-
Broughton sounds perfect! Is the 45 board made of that featured stuff, or is it a "traditional" ply setup?
Thanks for the info! So psyched - board training is, weirdly, one of my favourite parts of climbing! :guilty:
-
Dont suppose there are any boards in Lincolnshire near Sleaford. Im there on placement for 5 weeks and not training would be :shit:
-
I don't think there is even any people near Sleaford. I'm in North Lincs but reckon it would be quicker to the Works from there than to my board.
-
Don't suppose there are any boards around Milton Keynes?
-
anyone fancy setting a board up the Grange over sands- Ulverstone area. Ihave all the boards mats
-
Any boards in the manchester area? Living in student town fallowfield/withenshaw...
-
I see that the last comment was also Manc based, but having moving here not too long ago thought I'd pipe up.
Any Manchester board shares going? I'm South Manchester, Chorlton based. Ta.
-
I'm S.Manc based too - and while there a few UKB'ers in the vicinity I've not heard of a board...
-

Hi, there aren't any boards around our neck of the woods as far as I know. I go to RO to use the board there - it's a good one, but in need of more recruits!
Drop me a line if you want to go down some time.

When fit I usually frequent the Awesome Walls place at Logport... but the Depot chain are opening a branch in Trafford Park which I suspect will blow both RO and AW away (for both training and problems)...
-
Cheers folks. I go to rockover and AW too. Tend to alternate them fairly regularly. Never used the board at RO, but the AW board is at least pretty slick.
Cheers Cjsheps. I'll get in touch. Well up for a bit of board psyche in prep for rocklands this summer!
-
Oh, that new Depot sounds amazing. I hope it turns out as good as it sounds.
-
Be unlike rocklands then ;)
-
Be unlike rocklands then ;)
Says the Peak local.. :)
-
Oh, that new Depot sounds amazing. I hope it turns out as good as it sounds.
Well none of the existing walls are as good as they could be (given the space of the venue's) so I'd have thought it would be an improvement if its as well thought out as the Leeds/Notts depot(s). Of the existing ones Logport is half and half, so the bouldering side lacks real estate.. Rockover has the wall area but ~ well, maybe its the layout, or the setting or I don't know what, but it just doesnt work for me..
-
Any in the Aire Valley?
-
Lord I know where the peak stands in the grand scheme of things Dom
-
Any boards in the kendal area or is any one into teaming up to build one??? I have all the boards etc just need a venue to set them up.
-
There's one in Lancaster, (I think there are looking for members) and I have a 45 my parents house near Penrith that you are welcome to use, however another 10 minutes would get you to Eden Rock.
-
Thanks for the offer l'm a member of Gregs lancaster board but trying to set something up
a bit closer to home. I'm based in Grange over Sands. If l manage to find somewhere to
set up my boards your be welcome. I wish l was closer to Eden Rock its awesome!

Any in south east london?
-
Ive a board in Rutland if anyone is interested, I know this county is a hotbed for climbing... PM me for details...
-
Working in Skipton with no place to go and after only a few hours notice Peewee and CBA changed their plans for a BoulderUK session and kindly let Joe Picalli and myself join in with them on Peewees excellent board in Nelson. They were also humble enough to let us look good.
Cheers guys

any boards in the south west london area? Will be near twickenham for a couple of months and hoping to stay strong (the central london walls are a pain to get to regularly from here.
-
I know this is an absurd question, but anybody got a board in the Oxford area?
-
Will be near twickenham for a couple of months and ... the central london walls are a pain to get to regularly from here.
Vauxwall should be OK to get to via overground train? I went there for a month while working in Staines and thought it was pretty good. Reasonably well set problems, plus a woody, circuit board and campus board.
-
And you get to train with the BIFF champion. Second Vauxwall, I went there from Teddington and it's not too bad a journey.
-
Did you get the train there or drive? And how long did it take? how mcuh did it cost?
As a poor student who is likely to get even poorer by living in london I'm trying to save where possible
-
Train to Vauxhall, then you're right above the wall. No idea how much it cost, just waved my work Oyster card around and the machines let me through, sorry.
-
I know this is an absurd question, but anybody got a board in the Oxford area?
Good luck I have been looking for a while and found nothing in the way of a board round here.
You are probably aware of the other local options but JIC see below.
Brookes wall is pretty good but no board. There is one in the plan for their new extension but it will only be 15degs and the chances are it will be used to set more problems rather than as a board.
The wall out at North leach is small but not bad (although it can get very grubby) but again no board.
There are a couple of artificial boulders as well.
There is a big ugly rough concrete one down by the Kassam stadium which is often in a very poor state. There is also a smaller one out at Standlake which has a couple of good faces and is clean and in a pretty pleasant environment. I use the Standlake one often weather permitting as it is just down the road from me.

Hello All, I dont post very often but thought Id throw my details up on here on the off chance there is anyone in the Deepings area (peterborough) looking for a board to train on. Ive just rebuilt the woody in my garage. 40 degrees, nice and wide (3m), fingerboard (not BM but to be added soon), rings and weights etc. Chilled vibe (ninjatune, warp, lau etc.), beer and other training aids allowed. PM me if you are local and interested. :)
-
Probably a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of any boards in Melbourne?
-
Is there much of a board scene in Bristol? I've just moved

Hi Guys anyone with a board setup it the southlakes kendal area? ;D

Any training facilities in the Inverness/Nairn area at all?
-
I thought there was an Inverness Bouldering FB page where you could ask, but it seems to have disappeared.
-
50 degree board, just outside Ashburton, south devon. Its pretty big, and pretty wide. Probably v5 entry level. It's in a drafty cold barn, so some level of determination required in winter months, but makes for an excellent post dartmoor session when your skins fucked but muscles still OK.
Pm me for info
-
I thought there was an Inverness Bouldering FB page where you could ask, but it seems to have disappeared.
I'm not on Facebook either! Thanks though.
-
You're just too cool aren't you.
-
I'm sure this is well out of date!
Anyone travelling through Aberdeen/shire is welcome to a session in the garage once we are allowed. 36 deg board, assorted probs, Beastmaker.
-
Now things are a bit more relaxed COVID wise, if anyone every fancies board session in Skipton then let me know. Had some friend around last week and it made such a difference to the psyche so keen to open it up a bit more.
It’s a fairly easy board (up to about 7B-C maybe) and 25 degree overhanging. But I put a bunch of extra small holds (10/12/15mm flatties) on now and started doing more feet follows hands problems which is helping getting some harder problems set. Think with a bit more experienced people on it you could make some harder ones.
It’s just a small wall in a spare bedroom but we’ve enjoyed using it since it was put up. More holds added since the photo was taken.
Location: Skipton
Steepness: 25 degrees
Grade Range: Easy to 7B/C + 5 large campus rungs
Size: 2.3m wide, 2.8m length
Vibe: Chilled - dog will probably be milling around.
Other facilities: Tea/Coffee/Puppy Cuddles

I've just moved over Ilkley way to Burley in Wharfedale. Any boards near by? We have bought a house with no garage and it's taking longer to work out the best plan for installing one so out board is in pieces in the shed at the moment. :boohoo:
-
Llanrwst, Conwy Valley
3.6m(W) x 2.5m(H), 27degrees
Obviously would be better if the dimensions were the other way around but useful for arse dragging traverses that seems to account for most of my boulder projects. I’m going to keep buying holds so happy to tailor the board to visitor demands. Separate building to house so pretty easy to come and go without annoying my wife.
-
If anyone ever finds themselves stranded in northern Germany wanting to board climb, hook me up.
Lucky enough to have a Moonboard and a 45 woody with a mix of wood and resin holds at home, plus small campus board and a bunch of weights etc.
P.s. How the hell do you post an image on here?!?
