Keen to check out the bouldering at Goyden near Lofthouse, anyone know if it might be dry after recent rainfall? Cheers.
-
Majority of the main problems stay dry from what I've heard, the tops may get a tad damp.
-
Great, cheers!
-
Did you go? Dry?
-
Yeah I went and it was gopping. Then optimistically went to Joker's wall at Brimham and that was also gopping. Then went home to cry.
-
Anyone been to Goyden recently? It dry?
-
Castle Hill just not doing it for ya?

Exactly. Missed the UK lime

Anyone been or got a crystal ball? Thinking of a quick hit tomorrow.
-
No but please do check it out so I can calibrate my conditionsometer for future reference.
-
I can’t imagine being in a fit state, I drove past Kilnsey on Tuesday and North Buttress was almost entirely black. Also showers forecast Saturday.
-
Baaah. New plan required, back to the drawing board. If I am nearby this weekend I will take a look though.

I won’t be surprised if it was dry! I have never seen it wet! I also recon kilnsey bouldering probably dry
-
It never seems to seep much. I've been after a day of torrential rain and it was bone dry. But we'ev had nigh-on a month of torrential rain, so I'm hedging my bets...
-
Maybe I just need to believe. Don't have a topo for the kilnsey bouldering (if there is one?), so not sure what is what. It is on the list at some point though.
-
Keen to know if you do go.

That’s the spirit. Channeling the politics of today to climbing. Fuck the facts. Just believe. Even if the rock is smeg covered dripping gop - if you believe it will be primo.
👍
Don’t forget to stop at Greg’s on the way home to get Will some vegan sausage rolls - and make sure he pays you first ;)
-
and pull harder... :weakbench:

Likewise. Should start a sweepstake
I'd totally written it off with all the rain we've had, but then if you don't go you won't know!
-
Imagine this before the internet.
-
Despatch the sacrificial Huwbert to Nidderdale to witness the gop for himself.
-
Don’t listen to Turnip, it’s so wet he’s left the country!
-
Imagine this before the internet.
This way we don't all have to drive up there. We're saving the planet.

I've just been and it's bone dry ;)
-
I might set up a crowd fund page for fuel (and trees to carbon offset my travels)

Stick that on Instagram and watch the world burn

Did you end up going today? Thinking of heading Monday, wondering if it was dry. Thanks
-
Bit damp. River going down into the cave was laaaarge. Bottomish of rib tickler was dry but rest of crag was gopping. Didn't even bother crossing the river (wellies required for that).
The warmup boulders were part of the river.
I'm not so good with a crystal ball but I wouldn't bother if I were you!
-
I might go just to see the river!
-
I'd recomend it for that. it is just up the road from brimham.
-
Cheers, sounds like when I went in the winter. Will give it a miss, cheers
-
Anyone been lately and can report on dryness/ height of river?!
-
Given the state of the wharfe yesterday I imagine the river is up. There's boat loads of rain due tomorrow too over great whernside too...
-
Yeah just checked the forecast properly... Might scratch that. Got seduced by the 20 degree temps on Saturday!
