Title: Karma Comments and graded list
Post by: unclesomebody on November 15, 2006, 04:53:18 pm
Because I am a grade obsessed joker I thought it would be funny to see a graded list of karma positives and negative. I would like to be able to see a list of the karma king (those with the most +) and the karma losers (those with -). Is such a thing possible bubba?  And perhaps an absolute karma (positive minus the modulus of the negative).

Thanks

Yep, it would be easy to do, but I have very little time at the moment and there's more important things to be getting done....like getting the gallery working again.

But, I'll put it on the list....

I don't know if that is cleverer than me, but I don't understand (this is assuming there is something more to understand than a simple anagram). I do have a collection of Joker cards but I would daresay that I could be described as a radge. For those who don't know, be enlightened; (a number of definitions from urban dictionary, no, not keith urban's dictionary)

one who is not all there; a bit mental. someone who likes to noise others up and get into fights.

insufferable nippy little shites that are commonly found drinking in Edinburgh's "Lothian Road" and "Rose ST".

"look at that wee radge bastard, he wants twatted"

Unfortunately if the negative karma has been removed from the list the count still remains. Must be a glitch in the system. I don't know why, I just work here. Have a consolation wad point.

Why or how would I stealth punter someone? I can't even find the manual about how this karma thing works
i made a genuine mistake thinking Chas was Nik at work. Then GCW jumped down my throat (not very welcoming to a forum btw you bully) so I thought it was a bit weird. I did a little digging around and a few people PM'd me (who would have thought) and it seems there's a whole  :worms: about this guy.

I puntered you for abusing Nik (and puntering him - that was your Stealth Punter Nik), and then you and I were both unreasonable, for which I am sorry.  Not bullying at all, just spiralled from a genuine mistake and Bubba rightly acted on it.

Not sure who the  :worms: refers to.

You can't stealth punter anyone, nobody can. However the insect overlords do have the ability to delete karma instances where they think new members are rocking up and antagonistically going apeshit with the karma unnecessarily (as it appeared Mumra was doing at first, now settled down, thanks). Maybe this has happened which will remove the karma record but seems to leave the trace of it in the karma totals on folk's user records - so if I puntered Joe Bloggs who was at +42/-0 they would be at +42/-1 even after the negative karma was deleted. Presumably Bubba could manually tweak this on the database records if anyone was sufficiently offended by it.

Basically, play nicely you cunts.

When I deleted some records from the karma description log I didn't re-adjust the karma totals. If anyone's that bothered then as Dave points out, it can be done with a bit of fiddling.

"The Curse of the Claw" Maidenhead, 1926  25 October 1977

In a dark and stormy night, Sir Kevin Orr is visited by a bunch of strange men: Captain Merson (Keith Smith) leading an expedition to the Naga Hills of Burma with a few natives in tow. ...... Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. But the Curse starts to operate on him, and he finds himself attracted to the Chief Petty Officer Russell (Judy Loe). After some agonising, he discovers that Russell is a woman and that in fact nearly all members of the crew are. The voyage becomes a paradise and they don't want it to end when they reach Burma. ....

I don't.

Mumra has taken a dislike to me. I have not, to my knowledge, engaged her in any debate on the forum and yet have had to take a good deal of shit from her.
From being referred to as "Oldmantwat" in a thread I wasn't even part of, to random puntering.

Mumra, I have had and continue to have, enough shit to put up with in real life. I don't need or wish to abuse, insult or fight with anyone on here.
I think it's pretty sad that you do.

So, punter away, lob a few more insults at a stranger you've never met or spoken to; this is all the response you deserve.

Have a nice day.

By that I assume you mean that a moderator (not me) has reminded you that the no tit for tat karma thing applies to everyone. There are plenty of other ways to respond to Mumra. I very much doubt anyone has implied you would be penalised for responding in other ways, for instance by PM.

I was puntered when I  PM'd  Mumra and was accused of being abusive, despite the benign content of the message which if I remember correctly* was suggesting that the Karma was perhaps being misused and that everyone can choose to "Ignore" individual users.  I therefore employed the later myself.

Actually, Mumra has full moderator support. I've been told that if I respond to her I will be penalised. So she has free reign to be abusive and offensive.

You're very welcome to PM me if that helps get your knickers out of a twist, I've no idea why you shouldn't. Just to set the record straight don't hate you or even dislike you. Neither do I dislike Will, I was just winding him up a little (sorry x) until he gave up getting pissed. It's only a fake karma after all
What I was ribbing you about Matt was you being so butt hurt and whining on the forum when people disagree or find objection in what you say or do. Plenty of other people deal with lots of shit in their life and just because they don't write about it on here doesn't give you the right to keep bringing up the shit times you've had (which I'm sorry you've had to go through) as a reason not to rib you.
I come here to get away from those things, learn something new, converse with like minded twats etc. It's a wide church so don't expect everyone to pray at your altar

And I wasn't referring to "that" either and haven't for a long time; certainly never as a reason to justify any opinion on my part. Saying I have had/have too much in my life to worry about you, would not have had that connotation without your knowledge of my past. It would have been taken at face value, as I intended it to be.
It also turned out to be incorrect.

Where I do refer to those events or any others, it's within the context of that thread; where I hope to help someone else.

Not at all sure how that relates to me lamenting 3-9's language in a Facebook post (bearing in mind I didn't even connect Neter with 3-9 until later).
I only whine when I argue with Dense.
Because he loves it so.

This is where you really got into your stride:

Hard to see how that relates to your comments. Or any of the other occasions actually.
No, you are a troll. You are not "ribbing", you target. Pursuing Will until he gave up? Did you get a little frisson of excitement? Is this what you live for?

You think I need knocking down a peg or two because I dare to call you out on your trolling?

Not at all, I don't care what you think at all. You're not that important
I could have called you out for claiming to have climbed 8a (which someone did) and then you admitted later to lying about the ascent. But I didn't. Oh wait a second I just did

I wondered about that justifying my opinions thing that Mumra claimed. I've re-read around 400 of my latest posts and can't find anything. If I have used an expectation of pity against anyone, please let me know. Seriously.

Apart from Dense, on the 3-9 thing, I can't even find an example of me arguing with anyone and I wasn't that serious about that.

No I didn't. I said I climbed Biceps Power at Can Bouquet. I detailed the time it took and how I went about it, including missing a hold that would have made it easier, that I thought was out. I have also repeatedly described myself as a "7A" climber, because I  think there is a massive difference between rehearsing and repeating the same moves until you get it right. I also pointed out that it was a power problem on big underclings, that suited me.

I don't keep a score card, or even care much if you believe me or not and have certainly never videoed myself climbing.

Anything else?

46 minutes before anyone noticed  :)

Ever seen the Purge? Let's have Karma disabled save for one day when for 24 hours anything goes!!!

You need to curry more flavour with the IO's. They're probably worried about any argie bhaji that might go on.

Damn! Had to go back two years to workout where you got that idea from.

Never considered that Dylan was calling me out or that I was admitting to lying in that post, sorry you saw it that way. I guess humility is an alien concept to you.

But,

If I'm not that important, why do even remember that?

Or everyone gets together and eats exceptionally strong curries. That'll purge.

I don't understand this at all. I generally found your interactions with me to be personal and unpleasant, and of a nature that I wouldn't expect anyone to have to put up with on a public forum. In fact, I even received a PM of support from somebody who I've never even met or even really interacted with on UKB who said "He's a tit and is making a tit of himself" (apologies for the gender reassignment). I think you made it clear that you had taken a personal disliking to me when you said "you make it so easy to dislike you" and called me a "little tit".

If I say something stupid on this forum (and I often do), I don't mind being called out on it. If I say something really stupid, I don't mind being puntered for it. This happens fairly regularly and it's all part of being a member of UKB, but your anonymous interactions with me had an altogether nastier feel to them. To try and back track and say that it was just "winding [me] up a little" is bollocks.

For what it's worth (and I'm sure he can fight his own battles), I thought that the random abuse you threw at Matt was also unacceptable.

Also, I appreciate your occasional irreverent witticisms, just stop the personal abuse please.

Am I missing something? Has the whole site gone mad?

If this came to anything like the purge I'd end up talking to myself on here! Maybe I'd spare Doylo so he could film me and just maybe monkey boy so he could tell jens and let the world know. How did you find killing Lund, coops13 and the other whiner? Soft, second go

i personally like the sites that allow you to up or down vote specific comments. could be a good compliment or replacement for the karma
