Some of the postings by those f****** on the UKC and UKB forums about Bam Bam also made me angry which probably helped as well
Glad we helped along the ascent

But seriously,

More than 5, less than 10.

Well done Stevie!

Absolutaly awesome. Totally inspiring effort for stevie to bounce back from his injuries at his age(or any age) and do this, as well as the routes in wales. Glad stevie has returned to the limelight, used to love his articles in OTE and Climb.

Best of luck with the other projects, maybe he could put some of his training tips on here.

Has Mordor settled at 9a rather than 8c+?
Title: Re: Stevie Haston climbs F9a!
Post by: robertostallioni on September 17, 2009, 09:29:39 pm
Isn't it an extension of Gondor, 8c+? Originally 9a, now 8c+/9a?

Fantastic skills!

WRT training tips. Does anyone remember which OTE article featured Stevie? He was doing one armers and holding a very heavy looking weight in the other hand.

Err there were lots of OTE articles written by Stevie, he had a regular column/spread  ::)

Think I know the one you refer to though, will see if I can find it in the loft.

Stop being nice to him. He'll never tick 9b if we don't make him angry  ::)

If one wanted to be angry, a restricted diet of 700 calories a day would certainly help.

That cave looks fuckin meaty!
I've always been encouraged and inspired by the likes of Keith Sharples climbing pretty hard in their fifties (8b etc..). This however takes it to a whole new level! There's hope for us all!

For me anything that is just off the floor is bouldering, an Font 8b+/8c isn't a bad consolation prize for Malc.

Did Cubitt do Evolution? don't think he did. he did Mecca Extension though.
Is Hubble the hard way doing it without Dave Grahams kneebar?
