Do you want the bad news, or the bad news?

Shit, that's harsh :(
-
shit, never got to go
-
god damn.

So is the place a complete write-off? Is it worth seeing if it's just the surface layers that are shattered? I suppose even then it would take forever to re-clean it, etc.
-
:( I really wanted to go as well. I wonder how many people had a long term project there?
Still I suppose it'll free up space for the Penysarn boulder in the reprint- 6ft high by 12 ft wide with 8 eliminate problems up to V2...
Seriously must have been a bummer- I did hear that it was a good venue.

RIP Roadrunner, gone but not forgotten. Thanks for the good times.
And as for the dozy fucking workmen who set it alight :die:
-
Sorry to see this venue go, only got to go a few times.
Has all the work finished round there now?

Bummer - I can't imagine that the thermal shattering will have propagated that deep into the rock though - I'm sure a session with a bit of hardware will get you to sound enough rock - hell, you can even create some fine 'designer' problems.

I do remember when Kristian Clemmow pulled down the pillar at the right side a few years ago. We initially thought it was a write of, but it cleaned up nicely.
I guess the question is, is how deep do you have to go before you reach solid rock?
Anyway, last night we drank a toast or ten to the memory of our beloved cave. Christ I've got a hangover this morning.

nodder will be walking round this week with a black armband on!

I guess there's only one way of finding out.

Drove past the cave many times when it was shut, so many times in fact it became a mystical venue :)
Now I don't get to go, so sad :(
