Underwhelming compared to previous stuff I thought. Carrying a bike up the Inn Pinn was the most impressive bit... but then he just stood on top.

Seriously sweaty palm stuff when he was at the top. :o
Some serious skillz... and balls.
Yikes.

Probably realised he'd forgot his ab rope.

Decent to see some good footage of the ridge, but the bits he were on, bar the inn pinn, we're the flattest least technical bits.

P.s. Obvs mostly set up, doubt you could get up and down the inn pinn with a bike really, probably heli lifted on?

Don't think so. Can clearly see the shadow when he's carrying up. I'd rather carry a bike up than pay the chopper bill.

What shadow? He's only pictured carrying it on the top slabby easier bit, not the steep lower side crux bit which is used to access the upper ridge.

Bearing in mind they clearly had a chopper there for all the airborne shots. And the pictured sections don't link up, you wouldnt start at loch coriusk then ascend into ghrunda, he would have had to climb the TD gap, etc etc. it's clearly shot with heli lifts into the bikeable sections. Impressive logistics, I wonder if it was shot in one day or several.

Looks more like drone footage to me. I'd guess a several day shoot. No doubt a making of will be next...

I was on the ridge in June and saw tyre tracks in a few places. Was told this was why. Collies Ledge was impressive I thought, last time I went across there I was roped up.

Drone shots innit. And a mountain guide on hand. It'll be a multi day shoot, even if the first few days are just scoping the good spots to ride.

I'd bet the rowing shot at the start was shot afterwards - doubt he'd go questing up the ridge with wet feet!

Does a great job of showing how beautiful the ridge is. I wonder how long they had to wait around for a few dry still blue sky days in the Cuillin!

And for a sunny day without a queue of punters on the inn pinn!

Very pretty and subtle (well as subtle as a big budget shoot can get). The only time I've been on the ridge it was clag death so it's nice to see what I was missing.

Says it was a drone in the blurb.

It's true that the out and out technicality of the tricks perhaps isn't comparable to his previous work, but I actually quite like that its got some "normal" (albeit in some pretty exposed places) riding in it. Yet in the most part, its still beyond anything an average mountain biker could probably do, or have the balls to try.

It does also do a great job of showcasing just how great that part of the world is.

Doesn't he normally ride a hardtail or jump bike of some sort?

I don't think there is any implication anywhere that he did the whole ridge, just rode bits of it.

Wonder if he contemplated a descent of the Dubhs Ridge? Be a nice one for him to do I reckon.

Having looked at some photos the Collie Ledges bit must have been terrifying, with somewhat more serious consequences for a mistake than backflipping off a fence!

Descending dubhs ridge would be worth a watch.

An aquaintance of mine has ridden /carried his bike up all the Munros including the Inn Pinn.
I have no reason to disbelieve him

I have been quite shocked at how difficult to please some people on here are. Then again, I don't ride a mountain bike, so it could all be the equivalent of a bloke rocking up some 8As. Quite good, but not groundbreaking.

Regardless of the difficulty, I think it's a great spectacle showcasing an acutely beautiful piece of geomorphology that not many will get to appreciate close up, let alone on a bike.

Shit the fucking bed, that looked nasty  :(
Re the DM ridge video I thought it was impressive.Being a non biker I don't know how difficult some of these "tricks"(is that word offensive to MTB-ers,sorry if it is ) are but to my eyes there didn't appear to be much room for error. The film was fabulous and reminds me that the Skye bouldering season is upon us  :bounce:

Great to see Skye in HD.

I'd be OK doing the Inn Pinn with bike on my shoulder but the Collie Ledge felt pretty sketchy even in a pair of Walshes!

Strictly speaking he descended a VS, although funny enough just as high and just as hard a landing!

I too was underwhelmed with the ridge video, compared to how awesome the Edinburgh and Way Back Home ones were. The fence flip was by far my favourite bit  :)
