Pretty sure I have a dose of this... pain in the inside crease of my left elbow, google suggests its also known as this;
Bicep Tendonitis, Biceps Tendinopathy, Biceps Tendinitis
I've fixed other elbow issues with eccentric exercises, do folk think eccentric bicep curls might work?
:)

This was covered/mentioned in the document that Ru linked to last week - I didnt read the section - but it was mentioned in the doc... worth a look. https://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,30425.0.html

I am currently doing negative bicep curls to try and get rid of a bout of this. They worked a treat last time and cleared it up relatively quickly. Last time I just did palm facing out but this time I am doing normal and hammer negative curls too as I can't quite find the position that works it. If yours is particularly acute you will definitely feel it doing either hammer curls or with the palm/wrist facing away. You need a weight that will stress the area but not so heavy it is going to aggravate it. I am currently using 5kg and doing 3 x sets of 8.

Yep got prescribed eccentric bicep curls (🍳 frying pan, then a scrap of quarry junk) worked a treat. Biggest issue was finding an effective biceps stretch that doesn't just work the shoulder.

cheers for replies, started eccentric curls, 3 x 10, 3 times a day, hopeful this will work.

John, Andy are you climbing through this ? Think I’ve got similar but not sure whether to stop climbing completely as is probably aggravating it.

I decided I was injured after a weekend, over gripping a drag lift (snowboarding) and on an indoor narrow compression problem, this left the bicep pretty sore, even cleaning teeth etc. A week of eccentric bicep curls seems to be working. Two days ago I went on my board and felt no real pain, so ok there. This evening I fingerboarded ok with dead hangs but weighted pull-ups hurt, so stopped that...So I guess I will climb trough this and avoid the training and moves that might make it worse.
Hope that helps. I also haven't really found any bicep stretch that hits the spot.

Often had something similar that felt like bicep tendonosis that actually could have been related to tightness in the brachialis (sp? -The muscle that lies along the arm beneath the bicep.) Mine came on originally after cranking out a load of pull ups and then lugging heavy boxes around at work the next day.
Found that getting a thumb in and massaging quite hard along the inside but underneath the bicep near the elbow crease relieved the dull ache. Thinks there more about it in Make Or Break if you've got a copy to hand. Good luck.

I found this from UKC, the third eccentric exercise was one I didn't know about. I'm still working through the first two. Trained on my board today with little or none aggravation to the injury.

Nice one. I felt mine the day after trying a steep undercut problem but in retrospect I’d been massively overtraining undercuts. I even carried on training the day I felt it-sounds stupid but I’m not used to having niggles. Been doing the eccentrics , that 3rd one in the vid really gets it.

I second the point Lorentz made about inflammation of the brachialis potentially being the issue; I've had this after periods of sustained undercutting and normally clear it up with standard bicep curls using a theraband and rigorous stretching. The one below is magic for me; also opens the chest out and loosens shoulders. I've always climbed through it as long as I'm careful and don't overdo the undercuts. Campusing also seems to make it flare up.
