Hey, recently have been lucky enough to get outside about 4/5 times a week, getting in 3-4 hour sessions.
I was just wondering when you guys have prolonged periods of climbing outside, when do you fit in time to train, say fingerboard, campus, core exercises that kind of thing. Or do you just not train? Obviously don't want to overdo it.
Was thinking of doing light training in the mornings, climb evenings, and then having 1/2 complete rest days a week.
Cheers

bastard.

If it was me, I would consider the outside climbing lots time to be a "peak" and I wouldn't do any additional training as I would want to be fully bearing down when on the rock. Having said that, the amount of climbing you are describing would only happen to me once a year eg in font so it is rather an esoteric question for the likes of me.

I tend to get out in the mornings and train after. It depends if your climbing outside 4/5 times a week is going to continue or is it just for a short period?
If it is just for a short period then enjoy it and get the most of the sessions outside.
If it is more long term then it is important to get a balance of outside and training in my opinion.

If i climbed outside 4 to 5 times a week for 3-4 hours I would spend the rest of the day grinning my ass off.

I gues it also depends what type of climbing youre doing. If its super strong pulling (i.e. lime) then I would say it probably isn't too necessary. But if it was 3-4 hours on the grit you're less likely to be doing any training when having the sessions so some added training might help

Assuming you have any skin for training on.

I'm not very disciplined for training when I'm psyched for climbing outside. I don't like to feel tired on the rocks. Sometimes think it holds me back but when the weathers nice I just want to go outside.

when the weathers nice I just want to go outside.
Surely every well person is like that?

Proper trainers don't stray from their regime just cos the suns out . And the boulderers don't like hot weather either.

I prefer to stay indoors and pull on plastic/do weights and avoid having to pull on to projects... Where in all likelihood I will be crushed by the realisation that I'm still too weak/need colder temps/need to climb on rock more to get up them!

I did say "well person"

Well done. You are obviously doing something right then so maybe just stick to that!
