anyone been, Ellis Butler Barker has been busy there as reported on UKC, just wondering whats its like?

For boulders? Not really.
Couple of good routes. There's Wayne, a classic E6 on threads. Dream River, a brill 7c of Tom Rainbow's, and an old classic E5 that needs some serious TLC. Theres a good 7A and a good "7C" which is more like 7A (I think Ellis eschewed the kneebars on that). Elis has done the 7A into the 7c at a proposed 8a.
The hard boulders look whack and you need a headtorch. I'm sure they're very hard, but given there's some stonkingly good boulders in Devon, I don't see why anyone outside the Torquay area would bother!
If someone put the effort in with a drill/wirebrush, there's potential for some cool sport 8s on steep tufas, but nobody has been arsed so far!

I should point out I havent (and probably couldn't) pull on to Ellis' hard boulders, but they look shite (and I am no snob, believe me!)

Yes they are shit.
Went to have a look once, and was put off from returning.
All the problems exist in one roof, don't follow obvious lines, the rock quality was awful when I went, and it was very, very dirty.
Not even of local interest really.

I knew it wasn't just me. I'll climb any old shit.

I don't think I'll bother ;)
