Title: Cheap alloy tent pole replacements
Post by: Monolith on April 16, 2018, 12:16:32 pm
Just wondered if anybody had beta on getting cheap alloy tent pole replacements other than via ordering one from China on Ebay?

Have the annual Islay camping trip coming up and noticed the joint of one of the sections of my Hoolie 3 is cracked and splintered at the end. Terra Nova quoted £42 for a replacement pole but ideally would like to pay a lot less.

Have raised the issue with customer services at Cotswold as it seems pretty poor form for this to happen to a tent that has been used 3 times in the two years I've had it. Really can't be bothered restringing it or whatever else a repair would entail.

Decathlon do this kit for £20.

Guess you'd have to cut one pole to the correct length unless you're lucky.

They have various single pole sections for their own brand tents also available but not sure how standard the diameter and sockets are.
