Title: How do you do this.....
Post by: Mike Tyson on May 26, 2010, 12:43:52 pm
Make a link for something appear as something else i.e. if I wanted to post a link to something cool, you would just click on the words something cool and it would take you to the link?

I have just posted a link in Da News and wondered how you do the above?

if you use firefox you can install an add-on that on right click gives you edit options of BB code for stuff like this, its very handy.

Would that be this add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/128/).

Golt, for more on BBcode see the relevant subsection of the  Simple Machines Forum Regular user guide (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=5.0;sort=subject).

(Also the image posting (http://ukbouldering.com/wiki/index.php/HowTo_Embed_Pictures_to_UKBouldering) I wrote up on the wiki sheds some light on this too, as might the HowTo Use Quotes (http://ukbouldering.com/wiki/index.php/HowTo_use_Quotes) that Bubba wrote).

You can also type the something cool, highlight it with your mouse and then click on the insert hyperlink button. (http://ukbouldering.com/board/Themes/default/images/bbc/url.gif)

Actually, ignore me, that's more complicated cause you have to add the = and the web address in yourself after clicking the button, I thought it worked like it does on Blogger where it just pops up a box for you to paste the address in.
