Title: Slightly off the wall Sheffield question
Post by: TobyD on December 18, 2014, 09:52:36 pm
Does anyone know of anywhere in sheffield or the eastern peak which makes / sells fire irons, and those long chestnut roasting things? End of strange requests! cheers in advance if anyone has a clue...

What do you mean by fire irons? Poker brush and shovel combo often in cheesey brass or set of three irons for cooking above fire? If the latter I could make you some but it's gonna be the wrong side of new year before I can get  them to you so probably no use.

What do you mean by fire irons? .

Tongs, poker, brush etc, shortish ones, not cheesy brass!

I can't imagine any sort of cheese would be any good for fire tending anyway.

I'd have a look at Blood Brothers in Matlock or the place right on the corner where the road from Chatsworth meets the A6 at Rowsley. There's also a forge at Ford in Ridgeway that might be able to make something.
