Title: which lens?

watching concrete circus last night, saw the filmmakers using dslr's to film
i've got the 500d with a standard kit lens...would that be good enough to film?

What do you mean by "good enough"?  Of course it will work (but it won't be as good as a decent prime and you'll have to manually focus).
