Hi
I really rate Kjuge, quiet, woodland setting, lake, god problems. Been twice now. Could be a bit warm in May though!

Apparently so:
Dear planetFear member,
Welcome back to planetFear.com! Following a transitional period over winter, planetFear has recently been sold. Under its new owners, Ultimate Outdoors... [blah blah etc]

Have a look at the swedish meatballs vid if you've not already, and maybe get keen for some of the other swedish areas. Also not on the vid Linkoping and Dalarna (distances very do-able with the mostly empty fast roads) and Aland (quick ferry from kapellskar, cheaper than from stockholm). Have always enjoyed kjuge, but the rock is very dartmoor, will kill your skin and it's not a massive area. The swedes might disagree but lots of other better in sweden areas I reckon.

I think I'm going to head over to Denmark/Sweden next weekend so I want some info on the best shit out there. I think I'll spend sat/sun around Kjugekull or wherever is best. I found this photo of Lamiche (beast!) doing this 7C+ (ss 8A+) and it looks pretty good! Can someone point me in the right direction? Do I need a guidebook or can I walk around until I see something immense?
thanks

If my memory serves me right ( I spent a whopping two days there in 2001 ) just follow the path pass the cafe and then left through some woods and a few meadows. There are a few other very well known problems in the vicinity: "Caspersen's arete", 7A+, (the arete on the other boulder formed when the big boulder splitted) and "Monolith", 7A. Surely any boulderer you encounter would be able to direct you to those problems.
I suppose you have seen this:

Check out the Rock and Run website I am reasonably sure they have an 'X-file' article (via the blog) on the place. Would post link but I'm having phishing issues with my browser.

What do you know of Danish climbing? Is there any / have you found any? Links etc.. ?

this was on c.t.

never climbed over there but went camping there with the boy sprouts in 1966.

Poor quality granite then. But there'll be more I guess. Assuming it hasn't metamorphosed mica or wtf. '66 was eons ago . . .

I'm not planning on climbing in Denmark, only arriving in Copenhagen because that's where my friend lives. We're probably going to head to Kjuge for the weekend, so this isn't a climbing trip per se.
I found the article on the rock/run website, and I have seen that video by Juju. That's what gave me the motivation to want to go!
Thanks for the info JWI. At least I have some names to ask for now!

If you haven't allready seen this http://www.kjuge.nu/kjuge/eng/ (http://www.kjuge.nu/kjuge/eng/) should help, although the warm temps won't.
