Like it says, please type in proper english.
Txt spk is annoying and is not helpful for anyone searching the forum at a later date.
If you can't be bothered to type full words out then please don't bother posting.

Waddage points awarded to Bubba. I absolutely abhor text speak, I just feel it shows a lack of respect for the reader; forcing them decrypt the bloody stuff to compensate for the author's laziness. Though I realise that I am perhaps a little oversensitive when it comes to matters of spelling and semantics. A job that largely comprises reading and writing chemistry patent specifications does that to a man, maybe I should just retire to Daily Mail Island....

Hey Bubba, I hate txt speek. One thing though, will I get my wrists slapped (or negative kama) if I use old fashioned abbreviations ie -ve , btw, etc...
It's just I have gained a few abbreviations whilst writing notes at Uni and I can't quite shake them (or sometimes can't spell the long word :( )
I've already gained -ve karma from my hubby when he thought I was dissing him :'(

Some is fine, it's just when you get whole messages in it it can drive you mad. Not really much of a problem here but has been on the gaming forum i run.

How do you have the time to run UKB, UKCaving, gaming stuf etc???? I barely have time to sit on UKB all day :lol:

The gaming forum is small and runs itself and ukb doesn't need a lot of time everyday. ukcaving.com is the most time consuming because i have to do quite a lot of moderation and user issues.

Bubba. What are you doing caving? I thought we just bouldered because we didn't want to get scared. I used to like Malham until they started cave diving under it. The mad fuckers gave me the willies!

Well I don't really boulder or cave at the moment - i'm not really the right shape for either these days ;)
