Hello kind people,
Are there any useful shoe reviews online?
Someone just asked me about climbing shoes, and I have climbed in Miuras for fifteen years—either in size 40, 40.5 or 41 depending on what I need them for—so I have absolutely no idea. I have of course climbed in other shoes when I have needed to panic buy shoes when Miuras been out of stock or when I have needed shoes for specific styles (mostly cracks).
Oh well, out of curiosity, I tried to google climbing shoe reviews and found no useful hits on the first three pages. The reviews I found online were useless fawning over models that were probably handed to the reviewers free of charge. No pro-cons about the design choices going into a model. No comparison to similar shoes of other brands. Very little information about last, stiffness and sizing. Basically a ton of useless waffle leading up to a "grade" with an average of 9 out of 10.
I remember reading something vaguely useful in a paper magazine a year or two ago so it shouldn't be impossible to produce.

I've found these two sites ok for getting a general idea about different shoes:

I find UKC climbing shoe reviews are generally decent https://www.ukclimbing.com/gear/footwear/rock_shoes/

I think a shoe popularity list would be insightful... I suspect there are a few models in each brands range that make up 80% of their sales... popular doesnt always mean best - but its a start...
