Is the space race knee bar the intensely painful shite one in the big shield of rock before the little traverse right? Or was i doing it wrong.
Anyone got any tips on where it is? And which leg, facing which way etc?

Your in the right place. Its R knee facing left & not at all painful if u get it correctly. Outside edge of R foot on a small square cut edge.

Cheers!

think i used a neoprene knee support to take the edge off. It worked and it made me feel like dave graham.

When you get it right it's a full hands of job, if you dare... :-\

I got two knee bars in - the bomber one (R knee facing L) in the obvious overlap, then a bit higher IIRC, when going through the steep bit there is a more marginal one just before the traverse, with the L knee facing R - which wasn't hands off but worth taking for a shake and a chalk I thought.

Did it on Monday anyway. Got a handsoff knee bar by the overlap thing. Cheers for the replies though.

I couldn't get the knee to stay in for a full hands off (although I'm pretty poor with most know bars), so I shook out, chalked up, and then carried on.
