Title: Harpur Hill Quarry
Post by: StillTryingForTheTop on June 18, 2013, 09:17:04 am
Looking for some 5+ / 6a / 6b climbing tomorrow and was thinking of heading to Harpur Hill,

Anyone know what the conditions are like, or if it would be better off heading to Horseshoe?

Cheers
Gary

Will be dry but shady and catching the breeze. Coral Seas, Rocky Variations & Apollo Creed are probably the best 6a-b routes in the Peak.
There was some stuff on the other channel about parking/clamping again recently, so worth checking that out

update to the guide parking on rockfax website too:

http://www.rockfax.com/news/2012/05/29/harpur-hill-parking/ (http://www.rockfax.com/news/2012/05/29/harpur-hill-parking/)

I wouldn't park anywhere on the approach hill, I used to work at HSL and I'm pretty sure they own the road and that normal parking restrictions do not apply due to security concerns etc (and they're cunts).

Either use the village or try the Hillhead Lane suggestion.
