Title: One for the orthopods?

A while back I fell off the last move of Satin and hurt my right hip, it seemed to resolve without intervention, just rest etc

Anyway after a hard session in the gym (60 mins on a x-trainer skiing type machine) I now have severe intermittent pain in the right hip and disruption to my normal gait. 

This seems to go on for about half an hour and then pass before randomly return.

Any ideas, I think I'll keep going to the gym but stick to the bike / rowing machine.

Bit vague there slopes, could be a few things.  Gilmore's, ITB syndrome, etc etc.  Depends where you're sore etc.

Usual advise.

Usual advice?  What's that, go see a Consultant privately ::)

Just googled those two and the pain is in the outside, rear of the buttock and feels quite 'deep'.

It seems as if I'll have to slow down in the gym, after all from fat slob to 2 hour work outs on three consecutive days might have been a step too far.

YHM Slopes.

Although your latest description doesn't appear to be ITBS as I've known it. Which was right at the joint between femur and hip.

I'm not a doctor, but...

I had deep pain in my hip due to too much falling off and too much exercise during an extended period of insomnia. Not in the same place as yours, but it the pain seemed to occur at random, messed up the way I walked and was made worse by those cross trainer thingy machines (had been using one for 30-40 mins at the end of each gym session for 6 months).

I was diagnosed with a burstitis - gentle stretching helped to even out leg/hip flexibility with an over bendy lower back. Cross trainers still make my hip feel funny unless I bend my knees more than I think I should and look like a right pillock.

What grade would Satin get in Font? 5?

I'd say Satin would get an ego damaging 5+

OK think I may have this - going to see my GP this afternoon to confirm - did anyone find a cure or is bouldering out for the forseeable future?
