Title: Dunoon
Post by: dunnyg on August 22, 2023, 05:40:22 pm
I'm off to Dunoon for a wedding soon, and wondering if it is worth carting a pad up there? I will have a day of half a day for solo adventures. Otherwise any tips on decent mountain biking (nothing too gnarly), cool hills to go up, or any other outdoory stuff would be great.

Some good trails up the hill behind dunoon. Range from pretty mellow to fairly gnarl.

I've never bouldered on the peninsula but this looks half decent?  https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/glen_massan-10424/

Depending on your route you can obviously get pretty close to Dumby on the way there or back.

Passengers will complain if I stop off unfortunately. Looks like a little MTB goldmine, so might go for that. Plus it can be done in the rain! Those boulders do look good though!

Glen Massan definitely worth a look especially the main face / main boulder, and Puntonius is a disgrace for never having been!

Thank Fiend  :-*

Oh, saw your distinctive torso on a photo for the crag page for Pfalz...probably going next week - will see if I can find a thread to revive...

oh, oh, DunnyG - you must, MUST take a wander round Puck's Glen. Preferably on a misty damp day, but any day will do.
