Title: grade voting
Post by: Mick Ryan on August 23, 2006, 02:37:51 pm
this may have been mused over already but i couldn't see anything of it when i did a quick search for it just now. I was just looking at yorkshire grit and was musing at their voting system for the grade of each problem. This struck me as on the whole being a good idea, it gives information readily for guidebook writers and may help spread the traffic of bouldering in the uk away from purely mainstream venues.

What do you think about having a uk wide polling system with as many problems in as possible. I think that perhaps this is the best site to do  it on as most of the climbers who visit here regularly aren't interested in spraying their achievements and are more likely to give and accurate and honest opinion of the grade.

feel free to shoot me down just a thought. :-\

Er, English tech grades on Gritstone, the others do not work.
Brad Pitt 7A
 :dance1:
Font and V grades are so fucking gay, but really work well on slimestone
The granite kind of needs both,
Every route or boulder i have graded, I have used E tech numbers, Only to have reports and guide book editors copleatly over ride this system and fabricate a eurocentric figure, Even when one or two have not even been reclimbed, and in some cases not even seen.
RSVP,,, :please:

I've asked you two to sort this out several times now :rtfm:

All you have to do is go to your profile to see who's logged in.

Unless of course you're just taking the piss and you have two accounts. You need to sort it out because having two accounts will just mean that one or both are deleted/banned. That will also get your IP banned, so nobody else will be able to post from Rock & Run.

I just don't have time to do something like this at the moment, although it would be nice to have.

How does the yg.com system stop one person from repeatedly voting for the same problem?

If you're really bothered about particular problems, just start a vote poll topic in the forums.
