Title: More forum quirks
Post by: slackline on March 31, 2010, 09:31:25 am
As well as the database search error (just confirmed from here that the term 'kyloe in the woods' returns the same error as sjw reports (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,14031.0.html)) I've noticed that the topics I'm reading are still listed when I click on "Unread Posts since last visit" and also that the most recent post in a given sub-forum doesn't appear listed as the most recent post in the board over-view in the column on the right (e.g. here (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php) until I post this message the most recent post in the "suggestions, requests, support" sub-forum is sjw's (linked above), but the page is showing the last as "Re: child board display" by the siger.

Something appears to have gone squiffy with the back-end db or the php smf software.

Out of interest, how come Insanity Wolf has no posts, even though they've posted here. (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,5044.msg253758.html#msg253758)

New record though, +1 karma for no posts

That's good going, although I would stand by my wad point even if he hadn't said anything yet. ;)

I am quite glad there is something wrong, I thought I had lost the ability to work forums earlier.  :'(  At least this way I know it isn't just me.

After reading Unread posts and clicking on the "Unread posts" link, posts that have been made from 04:19:31 this morning are still appearing in the list of Unread posts, despite having read them.

And the error message when posting is back.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already on another thread.

I just clicked on the "Show new replies to your posts." link and there was a thread present in the list which I'd just posted on. However no one had yet posted after me. Question?

Also when I'm posting I get an error message but when I click back and then preview my post it tells me my previous attempt to post was in fact successful as it appears as a someone posted whilst you were posting post.

I think that's the same as I'm getting. I just look at "Show Unread Posts since your last visit", also known as "Recent Unread Topics", and refresh once I've read what I want to. Now, despite reading, and sometimes rereading certain threads, they just stay there in the "Recent Unread Topics".

Is it anything thats already mentioned in the SMF Bug Reports (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=137.0)?  If not it might be worth mentioning/describing the problem so it can get fixed before the final release (or the next candidate release).
