The design seems to involve some kind of weld and if I remember correctly even the slightest difference in the alloy used for this can cause significant galvanic corrosion?

I'm no expert but guessing it will be a titanium alloy too, not pure, which I understand is too soft in most commercial applications?
Paul, you're right too, welding even a titanium alloy is fraught with contamination apparently, google any bike frame manufacturer on the subject
