Title: Anyone want an irregular Peak District trad partner?
Post by: slab_happy on August 20, 2019, 09:35:14 am
Because of reasons, I spend about half of my time in London, half in the Peak. So I’m around erratically, but if it’s dry and I’m up here, I’m always keen to get out — weekdays, weekends, whatever.

Rack and ropes, no car but live conveniently close to the Fox House. Currently leading VS and HVS, recently ticked my first E1, have seconded up to E2 with only moderate swearing, on for trying harder things. Would like to push myself and climb with more people who climb harder than me. Unfortunately fond of offwidths.

If you can up your swearing game, I'm usually keen. Limestone at the moment, then grit as it comes into autumn/winter.

You'd be a great mentor if someone wanted to push their swearing grade.

Thank you! The fact that it was this probably constitutes fair warning for anyone thinking of climbing with me: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/c.php?i=11114

Oh, also I'm autistic (in case people haven't seen me mention it in other threads). Doesn't make much practical difference when it comes to climbing, but since people are going to notice that I'm a bit weird and awkward even by climber standards, it saves time and stress if I explain why upfront.

Wouldn't be my first choice of E1, or even 101st choice..

I can vouch for Fiend being irregular ;)

'Scuse the delayed reply. I've done very little on limestone and am deeply suspicious of it, though I can be dragged onto it (I just whine). Summer is for moorland grit and trying to talk people into going to Black Rocks!

Cheque can now vouch that I'm a real person and also that I screamed "BASTARD!!!" loudly at Broken Crack. Could definitely use tips on improving my swearing technique -- maybe more mental rehearsal of my swearing tactics in advance?

Should have come with me to a rather busy Masson Lees yesterday, I embarassed even myself with a full volume tourettes-a-thon as I came off the final move of Long Black Veil. It was not family friendly....

It's grit season soon anyway....
