If people can't be arsed to read the titles and ask stupid questions they are going to get stupid answers.  This is not Ukclimbing.  Nothing wrong with lurking for a while whilst figuring out where everything is

Well that would depend, if they're new and awesome (and made by 5.10 therefore) stick them in the News section.
If you want to debate the wonders of down-toed boots you could always go for shootin the shit or bouldering. If you're declaring them the best wear-all-day routing shoe then...you guessed it, chuffing is the place.
To be honest, i'm pretty sure as long as you don't post it somewhere utterly ridiculous people aren't going to hate you, besides you have to give moderators some posts to move. For example this one will no doubt be headed for the shit heap. Deservedly so.

I've put stickies in some forums to explain their usage where it might not be obvious. I think "chuffing" came from the boldering.com forums didn't it? Can't remember now...
