One of my favourite guidebook photos and captions is the one of Gus on Force Nine, with everybody except Gus, even the dogs, visibly in pain from the cold and wanting to go home.

A wad point for the person to scan/photograph it and embed it in this thread.

Blimey I didn't realise people would get so irate about all this. It was cold (less than 5 degrees with wind chill) and windy enough for us to sack it in for more sheltered rock. Take from that what you will.

It was more of an attempt at a helpful conditions report than anything $:-\$

It's a controversial call, to be sure. The tortoise needs to keep his acolytes guessing, I suppose. 15 degrees this weekend!

I didn’t read JBs message as a calling. Connies good first thing and last but not during the day?

If the tortoise is abroad then surely it’s not called??

Let's not get carried away yet folks.

It may be dark on the drive into work but the scraper is still safely living under the passenger seat, the clocks haven't gone back and I'm a way off needing my down jacket and gloves yet.

As a side note, the celebratory Calling Of The Grit Crosswords are ready to roll...
