28 degrees here in Tenerife ;)

dry and breezy in the peak today, where would you rather be?

He says this, but we all know he'd rather be sat under a 2 foot high boulder in Lancashire, racing the deterioration of his skin in an effort to drag himself over the top before his tips split open. The outcome? Irrelevant.

Oh we know that, the toys were leaving the pram on Monday because of the weather and this trip meaning he wouldn't be out all week. Fridays forecast might tip him over the edge

I'm pretty sure we're in the middle of the pre-season rinse and spin cycle

Where has this beta come from? I'm not going to get excited on the basis of a 5+ day forecast...

It was alright at Burbage - though soapy underhand in the sun... Nearly there....

It's not been an easy few weeks. I thought I caught a glimpse of him a month back, but if it was I couldn't catch him. I went out tonight on the off chance, and there he was horns and all. Should all be downhill from here, enjoy folks!

FFS I think your board building has gone to your head. Warm and wet in Hathersage. There was a brief spell when the grit could have been called yesterday but the horned one came out, caught a glimpse of you screwing plywood panels to a 30 degree board and has fucked off in disgust.

As a fully paid up member of the Grit party I have lost all faith in your ability as leader, looking over your and Masons respective vimeo accounts I can see that the campusing skinny one has done over 167% more esoteric gritstone mantles than you this year. DM for the new caller.

How many times have you done West Side Story this year Johnny? Maybe that's the issue.

It's just this sort of lack of faith that causes warm autumns.

Whilst this years Grit Calling has been problematical - it is nowhere near as bad as Dobbins year of shame with the lime calling.

But - maybe we should adopt more of a probabilistic approach to grit calling rather than the yes/no binary system we have now. This way, there could be a 'gritometer' that could shift from Zero (no chance - its lime season you pillock) to 100% (get out there its mintio..) etc...

It could even be positioned on UKB's front page. Mind you, seeing the resistance to a 'like' button I expect this would take a full decade to work its way through the various committees and make it to implementation.. By which time there probably won't be a grit season anymore...

As much as I approve of BB's admonishments, I do think it is a particularly difficult call this year. Partly due to the weather being particularly shittingly bollox.
