The limestone is all still dry which proves that
1. It's not grit season
and
2. This season's limestone caller must be a badass mutha fucka from around the way

I will, however, be abroad for Spring next year and thus a stand-in will be required. Any nominations? I was thinking Stu.

Don't mention that word on this thread again or you'll have your permits revoked.

Yet again the caller of the lame is advertising his post. Bunch of fucking clowns, is handing in your notice one of the signs?

Pretty sure I could see seepage at Kilnsey on the way back, despite the brisk Easterly? Or was it just the adoring tears of Gresham worshippers?

Still it's always time for this quote:

4th time this month. Dobbin has dropped the ball. And then tripped over it. Turns out the ball was an egg, and now its all over his face.

I'll be back, it's just going to be a temporary hiatus to go climb some, dare I say it, sandstone   :o . But not shitty sandstone, more kinda limey standstone. With pump. And holds. And fun things like that.

P.S. Hope you enjoyed your aiding session at Beginners wall the other week ;)

Properly sandbagged by that new guide, it looked half decent in the photo! Never again. Thank God it's cooling down.

We're in that weird limbo world at the mo. Yes, there was some ground frost, but until the wind swings back round to westerlies no way is it grit season in my book*.

*Or at least that's what I keep telling myself when I make the lonely drive to the Tor with the car windows shut and the heating cranked up...

I must admit if I was the strongest I'd ever been I wouldn't be wasting it on Tor linkups...

At Ramshaw on sunday, out of the sun and its the strong cold northeasterly wind it was still a way off being described as "good" nick on anything slopey.

However someone did the Ace at the weekend, can't be too bad.

I have an important question about grit/lime calling.

Can both be 'in'/allowed/called at the same time - or is this an either-or situation?

You really don't get it. Both are called. Neither is uncalled

You can't have both called. The calling of one represents the revocation of the previous call. It's a binary system.

Yes there are only 12 months of the year and you can't be in two places at once although you can go to two places in the same day

I recently climbed at both Rowtor and Blackwell Dale on the same day, having success at both. Where does that put your binary theory now eh?

Means half the time you were at the wrong crag.

Ah, but empirically I was not, as I had equal success at both, and enjoyed climbing at both!

Yeah, you're quite right, the limestone was filthy and disgusting now I come to think of it.

I asked a simple question - and seem to be unable to get a clear answer....

I thought you lot were experts and to be trusted!
