Its coming but I'd say at least a month off having arrived.

After a couple of wasted trips, I made it down to Khute this morning and caught the big man. He wasn't for waiting. Felt a bit fitter this year so I reckon I'll go a few more years yet.

Enjoy folks!

Who's going to be first to high five that little piece of fortune telling? Roll on the Grit!  :great:

Gangle walking up the Ace surely indicates that the grit is well and truly called?!?!

There goes the neighbourhood!

Looks like primo conditions outside in Sheff this morning.

Time to destroy my skin and return to training and await an actual lime call next year

:D

It was f'ing 'scorchio' at Robin Hood's Stride yesterday. I could actually warm my hands up on the rock that was in the sun and considering that after 3 problems I'd gone through 6 tips (Ok, ok I do have bad skin) I'd say it's too hot, or at least it was yesterday...

Heresy! JB has called the grit. He has run with him of the highmost step. It's grit season. It's commonly known that there will always be blips in the grit season, especially at the start, when temps are a little warm. But a warm day does not a warm season or a wrong call make!

Of course the grit was called my morning free without the kids and the sun shinning was cancelled due to an emotional family "emergency". It'll be pissing it down every weekend I'm free until the limes called again  :wall:

do we need a calling of the Works for the time when the weather craps out, as rich says... usually about 2 days after the calling of the grit.

Frosty here this morning. First morning of scraping the windscreen switching on heated windscreen (smug). Looks like fair snows in the hills.

do we need a calling of the Works

I think Dense is your man for this

he'll either tell you that everything in the peak is crap, so the works is the the only option, or he'll tell everyone that the works is shit so he gets it for himself

So, just to check, because I don't understand half of what you lot are talking about, will this weekend at Roaches/Curbar be good?

This will be my first trip to the grit which isn't in summer - I'm excited.

How many magpies have you seen today? Were any of them sitting with their tails perpendicular to their body? Were they also sat on a fishing gnome's head? These are all important considerations.

(The forecast looks good for the weekend's climbing, it'll probably be good (although humidity is still quite high and the breeze won't be very strong, but it should be far better than summer!))
