I chose to move away from you you stringy bumfluffed choadturd!!

Mental note. Must use the phrase 'choadturd' in conversation at least once today.

Well if Sydney is anything like the bit of Australia I'm in you should get plenty of opportunity to use it about at least some of the locals.

PS This thread makes me think wistfully of those lovely clear, cold days of yore.

I wouldn't do that. The Aussies are great!

Sissy first thing Sunday followed by the beach when it gets too hot. They can keep their Sub zero grit calling nonsense. Not a thermos or a pair of gloves in sight here. I might even surf sans wetsuit this weekend!

Is it Lime time already? What's the craic with this tropical weather? It was about 8 degrees in the black today at Newstones and at one point a crimp on the Ripple was getting greasy. It's just past the solstice for goodness sake!  :(

geese follow regular flight patterns up and down the country throughout the year (according to twitcher friend) so this doesn't mean much.

Do we actually need a calling this year? The lime never got called so we're still in last years grit season. That's been my excuse anyway.

geese don't mean much.

Hmm, depends what geese they are, and where you are. Down here, once the Pink-feet are on the move, and the dahlias are dead, its bouldering season.

Of course, we do things by right ways on the grit, not like these bimbling lime idiots. See what happened when they upset Him!

Given Will's birding skills don't hold your breath waiting for a definitive answer on what type they were.

You're right, I completely neglected to note the colour of the feet.

And what of the two headed quail?

Here in Londinium the Hipsters are still wearing skinnies and wife beaters, so it may be premature to re call the un non called grit. Some were wearing cardies though so it might not be long until the three tailed mongoose blows it's bugle..

We are nowhere near the calling yet. The big man and his club are still lying low.

I was pressure washing the drive this afternoon with my shirt off ( I'm not implying that me actually making an effort to keep the house half decent looking is some sign, rather that it's still pretty warm)

This London hipster was at Almscliff in a cool breeze; I was still wearing a vest and shorts though, so deffo not time yet.

Shorts, vest and beanie is just wrong, unless it's the 90's and you are Ben Moon...

I am rocking shorts vest beanie more and more these days.

Will you are an embarassment, it's nowhere near the calling, okay in was 2'C over Glenshee the other evening but the bite of the grit crystals must be a long way off still.

Alas the cool period before this late summer 'heatwave' may have given us all premature grit tingles (PGT's)
