I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky and one by one they disappear

That combined with a week of continual rain and a heavy frost must mean the calling.

We're still dreaming of a heavy frost down here - I got midged twice this week, and was overheating in a t-shirt today. Whilst sat waiting. Plenty of migrants on the move here too, Fieldfares, Redwings, Pink-feet, teachers on half term. Rainfall is not relevant.

Two frosts in a row (not David and Sadie) and snow on the hills? Folk are stratching their way up winter routes already!

Magic here too. 3 days in a row sans cloud - is this a flat blacky vinyl thing with a hole in the middle?

About sodding time. Freezing fog and minus 2billion degrees up here this morning.

I must admit it's come out of nowhere.....the calling is a tricky beast for sure....

Tomorrow's going to be different... don't think I've ever seen such a clearly delineated cold front as the one approaching.

There's only one there though, even if it is a big sloper.
