and am I right in thinking that because I was born before 1980, I am allowed to boulder using only a beer towel (or equivalent rag) and am exempt from the "must have at least 1.2 m2 of pads" rule?

(operating with only a bouldering license and not a routes ticket)

You're also exempt from having at least three types of brush if you give the holds a whack.

I'm afraid that also means your licence does not cover the use of a Schedule 6 Music Amplification Device at the boulders. If you wish to use an S6 MAD you'll have to take an extra test to demonstrate that your taste in music is suitably Mexico.

I've just had 2 amazing days out at the roaches this week. And even more brilliant was my finger didn't hurt on the slopers.

yesterday was rather nice on the grit - warm in the sunshine, cold in the shade; just as it should be

You're all insane for even thinking of the calling yet. I know it's traditional to have pre call chatter, but this is early even for that. Boiling at Crookrise today and warmer weather on the way.

It was fine at Rubicon yesterday - but that's me done with a rope till next year. I have a whole month in Font before even thinking about grit

 :great:

Brackens dead. A bitter northerly coming in over the weekend. The bloke in the office who ALWAYS wears shorts is in trousers.

The tortoise stirs in his box.

This had better be an improvement on last winter's shambles.

Was nice at burbage last night but not what you'd call great nick, at least not till the sun dipped below the horizon.

Caley Roadside was in excellent nick yesterday. The crag section amongst the stillness of the trees less so.

First frost this morning.
