To be fair you aught to be able to crush Crack & Corner is most climatic conditions.

I swear I was getting burnt off by brian blessed lookalikes.

At the end of tonight's fishing session I felt a chill on my bald head; a chill so chilly as to make me want to wear a hat.
This has happened twice this week.
After 3 months off, I am now thinking about starting bouldering again - on THE GRIT.

I have felt it calling

As far as portents go; a grass snake swum across the river in front of me, a sparrowhawk (male) flew within 2 feet of my face, a kingfisher touched down (v briefly) on the tree next to me and a heron came within 20 feet of me today. Also, I caught nothing - first blank for a very long time. Time for THE GRIT.

After a couple of grit sessions (buggered finger precludes crimpy stuff), I think the time is approaching.  The last couple of sessions have been too warm/humid/damp in varying amounts.  If the temps drop and humidity goes away, grit will be back.

Having said that, I've had a few fun days out playing on that sedimentary stuff.  Bring on the chill of friction!

I've been thinking... we should have a list of benchmark GRIT problems that are shit during the lime season, but are ace when the conditions are right. We could use reports on these known problems to decide whether GRIT season has started.

Fiend, you like lists - get listing and recording  ;)

Hmmm.

Last weekend I saw a man with the head of a goose....or was it a goose with the head of a man?? I couldn't tell through the rhodedenrons.

This weekend I saw a crow perched on a sheep, and climbed on grit which is not grit.

What can it all mean??

Still a bit too muggy at Caley and Earl this weekend but I reckon it would have been good of there'd been any sort of breeze.  As for benchmark holds the sloper on Secret 7th wasn't quite useable yet.

Nice!  I did that to my little finger quite a few times before I first did it, still got a lump of hard skin there - the index injury looks well nasty!

Quarried grit's good for action even if it's bakin or freezin, I was at anglezarke last sunday and managed to flash a fine E66b and thats 5 years after I last did trad.  What have I been missing!

Snivelling shit was Kermit but it is pretty tip top for Grit routes at the moment - be a good time of year to go to Black Rocks, and presumably some of those other venues we had in the shady/ `it's baking hot' thread .
