We seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet here.

What Matt Seagull does in that Team America video is not The Green Traverse.

Get off your high horse?

Anyway, I was at plantation on wednesday largely practicing failure on Deliverance, but whilst I was there Big Ron himself sauntered over and I watched him glide across green traverse. For the record, he had his RH on top of the large diagonal sloper shelf thing, RF on the hold on the RH side of the face, LH on the rail then he pushed across for the Jug keeping his RH on the diagonal thing... so no crimp used, no campus up from the rail...

ron has obviously done loads of eliminates on the block, every day, seeing him do one doesn't automatically make that rons reach ;)

thats true dave but thats what tomtom implied and thats what you said hence the problem rons reach to. otherwise there would be absolutely no point tomtom making the post telling us what ron had done and there would have been no point you saying hence rons reach to.

So for 7a you need to get your blinkers on and forget any technique you may have ever had?
Some of us may have less to forget than others...
Liam: get across the fecking thing any way you can contrive.
It's called 'climbing'.

It might be the beta for something. That something might be 7a. But its not the Green Traverse. Sorry.

I should mention that I started from the proper place but Pa Pa who decided he'd film it was too late to capture the first couple of moves. Is that better?

You seem to use the lip to avoid the nasty moves to match, then leave, the rail thingy.  Booo.

first couple? Theres a good ten or so missing from the start of that vid. Has anyone pointed out that dfopping onto the rail and campussing as your feet pop off the glassy smears is just plain more fun and intensifies the pump aa you swim desperately for the end of the problem. Leads to satisfaction i think.

That video is one of the gayest things I've ever seen. Surely it's about 6B like that. Unlike Grimer, when I was shown the rules of Green Traverse, the rules were no heels, toe hooks or any such faggotry. You dropped down to the crimps with feet on shit smears and went for the jug, this being the only hard move on the problem. Even girls had to do it like that. Of course this was before heels had been invented. As you were.

Green Traverse was always done dropping down to match on said rail, then moving up off said smears.  Perhaps we are all just bitter because folks are finding more efficient ways of climbing long established problems?  Or perhaps.... folks should scrub the 7a tick until they MTFU and do it properly.  :spank:

Anyone thought of tapping some beta out of  Martin Veale, the bloke  who did the first ascent back in the day when we all had hair    ..... Last time I bumped into him he was working at Foothills on Edgedale Rd. ..... He's  really really nice  and I'm sure he'd love to help ........ Or would that be too easy  :-\

The first ascentionist doesn't have casting vote otherwise 99% of the ascents of Brad Pitt wouldn't count.

What counts is the way the problem is most commonly climbed. That's why it is vital the rot stops now.

(If the current generation are allowed to realise they have the power to change things we're screwed)
