General sport limestone conditions thread
August 30, 2008, 05:58:52 pm
Just a general request for any information of current conditions on sport limestone.  Sounds like Kilnsey is still pretty poor, anybody got on any recent info on Malham, Cheedale, Raven Tor, Chapel Head etc.   Cheedale was in suprisingly good nick a couple of weeks ago - has it managed to hold out against the rain.

Thanks

Malham was unfeasibly wet.

Two Tier was pretty much completely dry today.
Not perfect due to the humidity but managed to get a good day out of it.

Was it raining on Cheedale yesterday? The east peak was getting soaked, but Buxton weather station only has 2mm of rain for yesterday  :-\

Like burning rods of fire pinning me to the ground and stinging my face with its fury.

Not that bad initially, but getting heavier. The lifts and the top of the spider looked a bit mingtabulous. We got wet on the walk out. BUt she walks slowly.

Probably started raining about mid-dayish, hammering it down at times.
Although  standing under under Secteur Nadin it wasn't a problem.

Thanks for the info - I ended up a a very damp kilnsey  :(.  Fortunately there was more dry routes than climbing parties (just).   Sounds I need to work hard at persuading my partners that there is climbing outside Yorkshire.
