Head banger at St. Bees

Who's done it and what grade do you think it is? Did it today just before it started pissing it down and would love to believe that it is indeed V8.

I tried it just as it started pissing down and didn't do it. Seemed a very burly first move and well worth the V8 tag to me. Great tick for a bank holiday weekend, classic prob and one I intended to go back for.

It is one of those problems though which feels nails till you do it cause its only one move so it's pretty hard to quantify the grade really, I'd say its good for 7b

Is there a trick to it or do you just have to pull?

I could believe that it's 7a+, but it's the sort of thing i'm good at, so i can't really judge, but i've seen elsewhere (on UKC logbooks) that it's given v6, which seemed a bit weak, lakesbloc's got it down as V8, i'm inclined to trust lakesbloc, but agree it's probably a bit soft.

I think there are a few slight grade adjustments needed down at that most beautiful of bouldering spots. Headbanger is V6 in my opinion, Clash of the Titans also V6 (and first done by Ryan Dempsey), Tim's Crack V9...

I agree, 7a in my books. Suits people with bendy hips though, a lot of people seem to struggle with the first move because they can't get the position.

Aah well, a few days later when the excitement has faded i'm inclined to agree, 7a it is.

I find clash of the titans really hard too but then i've got no natural talent or flexibility and i'm not a very good rock climber so putting all of these factors together would suggest that most things will feel hard to me.

Font 7a is meant to be hard! Last time I was over there, it also occurred to me that COTT needs a sit start, so I had a little play on it. Now that will be nails.
