I recently went out and bought the cheapest HD camera I could find http://www.amazon.co.uk/SPEED-HD-8TZ-Definition-Camera-Output/dp/B002HU62CG/ref=pd_cp_ce_1 I couldn't afford anything expensive (hv20) and thought if i'm going cheap why not go cheapest. it's not amazing but neither is my filming/editing/climbing. I'm well chuffed with it it's much better than the miniDV cameras I'd used til now.

added all my vids to ukb group now, i usually do so.

Perhaps I should describe the problems I've experienced with the camera.
1.the auto focus is a bit crap, and if you watch any of my vids you can see the camera constantly adjusting (look closely) - and doesn't seem to be a way of putting on manual focus.
2.records to .mov files. which vegas can't import the sound on (i don't understand the reasons) so I have to convert to .mp4 using quicktime - although you only need to recode the sound (not video) so doesn't take long
