Bouldering accessible from Modena?
August 11, 2008, 07:06:15 pm
I'm going to a meeting in Modena at the beginning of Sept & I might get a weekend off.
Any thoughts on bouldering in the area suitable for early September.
"There isn't any"  is a perfectly good answer.

Thanks

i applied for a few jobs in modena.
it's quite close to a few areas, one is ceriola (30 mins), the other one is lagoni (1 hr), and depending on your free time, to the dolomites (2,5 hrs). in 3 hrs we can be in cresciano and chironico. or you can anyway...
you can check shiz out here http://www.infoboulder.com/index.php?mod=boulders&regi=8
if the weather is bad, modena is full of gyms and 1,5 hrs from where i live.
so basically, get yourself down here and be ready to rumble.

ceriola and lagoni are both very good. the latter being more suitable for early september temps. ceriola is more vertical/slabby, very slopey. lagoni can be more burly and edgy. both places have been developed by monster pullers caminati and bortoletto...

Thanks again.
I know this is asking a lot but I don't suppose either are accessible by public transport?

By the way but how little you know me. I would have been much more enthused by "both places have been developed by renowned food critics 'fatty' caminati and 'weak as a kitten' bortolleto.

sadly, going there with public transport would be an epic bigger than on sight soloing equilibrium.
nevermind the transports, i can hook you up with some boulderers and i may as well come to crush something out of the region.
you won't regret the food either.

Is that the funky cold place?

(sorry, it's been a long stressful day)

ceriola can be very warm even in winter, while lagoni si covered in snow in winter. if this vaguely answers to your question.
