I need to borrow a road bike on the weekend of the 20th.  I've agreed to do the Hilly Hathersage Triathlon and I don't have one and would like to at least try and borrow one before I put slicks on a hard tail and ride that.  Any one got one I could borrow or anyone got any alternative ideas?

given your called big phil are you looking for a large bike.
you could try one of the shops where they will lend you a bike to try before you buy.i know shops like stiff bikes do demo bikes that you can hire for the w.e.you might find one that does road bikes.

I am indeed quite tall and a large bike would be better.  I may try that idea if I can't source one a bit more easily but I've not got much time left so who knows.

You could always get one of your mates to 'test-ride' a bike on the day in question and have them standing by for the bike section.  Sorted...
