Long Tor Quarry: Conditions today????
July 07, 2008, 01:14:48 pm
Hi All,
Any ideas what state LTQ will be in today, bearing in mind this weekends fairly crap weather?

Never been before and fancied checking it out, but just want to make sure it's climbable there.

Cheers
Gus

There might be some run-down, but I suspect it will be mostly completely dry. If it is a bit wet I'm sure Lorry Park will be bone dry as a second option.

Gus, did you get down to either of these today and if so how dry were they?

Is there an online topo around for them? Thanks.

Cheers, found that one after I'd posted (being a bit lazy). Do you know if one for Lorry Park exists? Had a quick google/look at sportsclimbs but couldn't see anything.

Hey dudes, i've been in Long Tor today and its pretty wet, but its only run off and not seepage yet, so it will dry quickly with good weather. BLOODY annoying cos it was absolutely bone last week. Just when i start doing well on the MODTCR direct start proj. :furious:

Not been into lorry park this week, but i reckon that maybe dry cos it doesn't really seep very much. The route descriptions are on UKClimbing database.

Also worth checking out is Turkey Dip Rocks up at Darley Bridge, cos this is usually the only dry crag when everywhere else is wet. And you can climb there in the rain which is pretty useful for this country. 8)
